I'm 12 and I'm already worried about this. Very light blood on periods but tampons get soaked the rest of the way with discharge. Tried using tampon when I knew I wasn't bleeding at all and it got fully soaked all the same. Definitely scared of tss but also, using tampons everyday, that's a lot of tampons.

I have PID - pelvic inflmmatory diseas e- which apparently is a disease after all...i have clear and runny to whiteish and sticky vaginal discharge all day every day. I've been treated for pelvic infections a lot - which doesn't fix it. I've been told that some women just produce more discharge and it's normal, but it's really NOT normal when it's accompanied by pelvic pain. I did have a pelvic infection that left unrecognized and untreated for 10 years, which caused a lot of problems including infertility, and have had 1 infection since a while ago, but it's different, since infections seem to smell strange along with the discharge. So, PID, with no current infection, no yeast infection, no UTI, no STDS as i've been testing for everything multiple times, clear or insignificant ultrasounds, pelvic exams, and cultures, no abnormal levels of bacterias. So, apparently just PID is causing it, which kind of makes sense if you think about IBS which can cause mucus in stool (I also have). Additionally I have Intertitial Cystitis which is like bladder inflammation, which aggravates my pelvic organs at times and I'm sure wreaks havoc on my PID. Maybe PID can cause mucus in the cervical/vaginal canal similar to how IBS can cause mucus in the intestinal tracts.

I’ve tried everything and been back to my doctor more times than I can count. (Note I don’t have issues with odour/colour/infections, just the volume).
As someone who specialises in bacteria professionally, I was terribly concerned about asymptotic infections. I went to a great specialist who did a thorough exam, and what she found was that the glands I have that produce discharge are larger than normal, which is likely a result of being on the pill. It would be interesting to see how many other women with discharge issues are also on the pill?
