I have been suffering for 3 years with lower left abdominal pain. To the point that they did surgery to remove my appendix (even though that pain is on the right side) and still couldn't find anything. After many doctors, every test and scan imaginable....I think I have found the problem. Candida. Just research it to see if it is what affects you. Regular doctors are not going to come up with that diagnosis. Wish y'all well.

I'm having the same feeling for weeks now, more or less like wat most of you described. Its not a pain or things like dat, i feel more like some disturbing feeling, like something;s in there, but when i pressed on it, its not painful at all. Very vague feeling, and i have lower back pain on both sides when i sit. Im too scared to go to doc. Any of you has got result of diagnose from doctor, other than candida?

I am a 56 year old male also experiencing some lower left abdominal pain. It is more of a discomfort than a sharp pain. It will sometimes radiate into the groin down the left side of scrotum and upper top left side of penis. Also I can feel tenderness when you push on the lower left abdominal area. This almost seems like a sensitive nerve or something the way this pain will radiate. It bothers most when sitting at my desk, but is intermittent and some days almost no sensitivity at all. I too suspected a hernia, but can't feel any portrusions. I first noticed this one evening about 3 weeks ago after I finished riding my Airdyne exercise bike. I am an avid speed walker and often do fairly steep hills. I have pealed off about 35 pounds in the last 6 months after implimenting several lifestyle changes that were advised by my cardiologist. I have a feeling this may have been brought on by the physical exertion. I will give this a couple of more weeks and then will see a Dr. if it doesn't improve.

Has anyone found out anything new here? I'm still experiencing the same - it doesn't seem to get any worse or any better at this point (6 months in), but continues to annoy the hell out of me. I've been procrastinating on the colonoscopy, but will likely have that done after the first of the year.

Best!

I am 42 and exercise 4 to 6 days eachg week.
I snow board every year and also wake board in the summers.

This has been bothering me for 2 years. I am going to get a CT scan tomorrow.

I went to a leading urologist in Austin and she said that it was more focused on the side. She could isolate my colon by applying preasure with her hands on my abdomin and it didn't cause any addtioanl discomofort.

Her diagnosis was that the as the abdominal muscles go down to the lower abdomin, they become fiberous sheets that can get tears. Because it is not muscle, they usually don't repair themselves and will result in ongoing discomfort. She said that as long as there wern't a siginifcant tear, it wouldn't require surgury. The speculation was that I got a tear on one of my big spills snowboarding in Feb of 2005. Still going to get the CT scan, I don't need any surprises that could have saved my life if I had found it earlier.

Feel free to email me at mike @myriadexchange.com

I have been dealing with the same issues for the last 6 months. My exhaustive research has come up with more than any doctor. I've narrowed it down to a sports hernia or epedidymitis (ep).

Do a search for either of these and start researching. Ep is more known in the medical profession, but sports hernia is reletively new. It's really just small tears and damage to the abdominal muscles, but is repairable with a 30 minute surgury. The thing with a sports hernia is that you can't diagnose it in any way other than ruling out all kinds of other things. Surgury is the only way to truly diagnose it.

I have an appointment with another doctor this week to do more tests. I just wanted you all to know that you need to educate yourselves before seeing a doctor. Most don't even know either of these conditions exhist, but either could easily be the root of your problems.

I am another 25 yr old male experiencing a lot of the same types of symptoms as most of these blogs. I know that most of these were posted 6 months ago, but I'm hoping that any of you might have found some answers?!?

I have been through two CT scans, bloodwork, colonoscopy, etc... and no doctor has been able to give me a definitive answer.

I have the same discomfort but no pain in my lower left abdomen, near the tip of my hip. occasionally i have it across the bottum but it feels like gas or diaphrea. I lift weights and thought it may be from that howver it has not subsided. If i eat a large amount it tends to fade or go away, if go to the bathroom the same, fades or goes away as well as if i have gas. If i drink water it tends to go also and when laying down or siting back it does not bother me. i have no pain jsut discomfort feeling of bloating in my lower left side. does anyone have any idea what it may be or what i should do?

I've had an abdominal tear and I currently have the left side stabbing pains. These do not feel the same at all. I had the abdominal tear two years ago and it has healed completely. It was a much different, burning pain. The pain about 3" left and 1" down from my navel is a stabbing, take-my-breath away pain that cannot be exacerbated or made to feel better. It comes and goes like hiccups. Abdominal tears feel better when you stabilize the area with a support around your midsection (something like girdle). Nothing stops these other pains.

Been reading all these symptons, which are very similar to mine. I run a lot but recently played some football (I'm 48) and no doubt overexerted. Could be a sports hernia but I stumbled across something that describes my symptoms better than any other thus far. Osteitis Pubis Am going to the doctor armed with this research, as well as sports hernia (Gilmore's groin).
