You are all referring to Alice in Wonderland Syndrome. I had it as a child, for me things seemed really large. .my son, 8, just started awaking in a panic with the 'too small, far away' complaint. If I didn't have this as a child, I'd have dismissed it as nightmares. From what I've read it's usually harmless. My son has had a virus for the past week, if his 'visions' don't go away when he is better, I will bring him to the Dr to rule out any serious causes. Years ago many Drs hadn't heard of this as there wasn't a name for it. Now, if you Google Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, I'm sure you'll find plenty of other people who are experiencing some of the same exact things. I hope this helps!

I first remember getting it at about 10 years of age. It only happened on rate occasion after I'd vomited. Once I'd cleaned myself up I'd go to lay down and ecerytging seemed so far away, I would start to panic and I told my mum but she just passed it off as nothing.

It happens probably 20 times a year for me and it irritates me like crazy. It once happened at school before my presentation and I was freaking out, looking for solutions.
When it happens (in my room) I try to convince myself that my brain is tricking me and my perception is just a little different but I'm not sure of that. It usually helps if I look at my lamp and then my pillow. I have to look away when it doesn't work then try again. Also, it happened in my dream, and I woke up with it.... I think that's pretty weird so I wonder if my brain trick theory is right?
