I bought me a paper shredder for the apartment and its
the best thing (in a messy kind of way) since sliced bread.

Been shredding paper the last three days and driving the neighbor
bonkers with the darn thing.

Anyone else?

Yep. own one, use it, love it.

And the shredding makes great packing material. (You can put it in ziploc bags so it isn't as messy and it makes great cushioning)

We bought one before we moved down here--I shredded three bags full of 10 y/o files that we no longer needed. (They took up several boxes)

I've worn out several over the years. I shred anything that has any personal information on it and all credit card offers with my name on them. I also have file drawers full that need to be shredded, I dread doing that but I need to get rid of the stuff. Much of it doesn't need to be shredded though, just receipts from a business I had for 35 years. Any credit cards associated with that have been dead for years.

We use ours so much that we burned ours out. With all the credit card offers, bank statements, utility bill, etc., and you can never be too careful.

Use the one at work to shred personal records that have usable info - account numbers, address, and the like. Also old cancelled checks.

I do a lot of confidential stuff at work that gets shredded. At home, I usually just rip the SSN or relevant personal info before tossing it. I always tear credit card offers in half.
