I've been on a low dose birth control for about 5-6 months (Lo
Loestrin). Last Monday I had 8 blue "active" pills (followed by 2 white
pills and then 2 iron pills) in the pack when I started Augmentin for an
ear infection. On Wednesday I had unprotected sex with my partner and
forgot about antibiotics lowering the efficiency of BC and my partner
ejaculated inside of me. What are my chances of being pregnant? I
normally spot some on this BC anyways because it is so low dose, but I
have been cramping and have bright pink spotting. I can't tell if it is
because I am now done with the blue pills and am about to start my
period or if it's a possible pregnancy. (And if it makes any difference
for the past 3 months I have gone straight into the next pack of BC and
skipped my period.)
Well I don't know about the pregnancy and blood issues since I'm a virgin, but I do know the antibiotics DO make BC less effective. I was on BC for acne/body hair and I took an antidepressant for an infection and started spotting, and obviously I wasn't pregnant! :)
