antibiotics can affect the effectiveness of the pill, yes.

NOT PLAB B =)

Plan B is typically prescribed for women that have unprotected sex while using both REGULAR BC and antibiotics, it does not have the same reaction.

My girlfriend and I had a condom break 1 day before the "normal" start time of her period. We straight away went to the Pharmacy and was perscribed Levonelle one step. We told the nurse that she was on anti-biotics (Keflex) and she said it was ok to go ahead.

It is now the day of when her period would usually begin, less than 24 hours of when she took the Morning after pill and she has still not started her period.

Would you think that it is at all possible that the anti-biotics weakened the effect of the pill?

Regards

no. the morning after pill has hormones in it that prevents the egg from dropping or being "vulnerable." Due to these hormones, she could just be affected by the pill itself because it can cause side effects...have her take a pregnancy test at least five days before her next monthly period for the most accurate result (remember, you can still be pregnant and have a period...so don't just go by menstrual cycles)
