I was born with two testicles but at the age of 15 I developed a small testicle attached to the other one on the left side. I haven't seen the doctor about it. I need help from only those who knows well about this or who has a similar problem. Does this abonormality means I'm infertile? Please I need correct advices.
Hi Tsholotosalo,
Polyorchidism is fairly uncommon. It should not effect your fertility. As to whether or not the other testicle functions, without knowing how it is attached it is impossible to give you an answer. Usually they share with the other testicles and it can function.
An ultrasound should be performed for diagnosis.
An additional concern, while the third testicle may have been undescended prior to you reaching age 15, since it appears attached to your other testicle you should be examined by a doctor. It is important to rule out it being a tumor.
See a urologist. It is their area of expertise.
Good luck.
