What is the optimal daily dose of benadryl? I have problem with allergy and can’t manage it. Sometimes I take capsules, sometimes elixir, but my symptoms persist.
I tried also with some other antihistaminic. Can anyone recommend me some effective antiallergic?
Benadryl is diphenhydramine, very good antihistaminic. You probably under dosed it.
It is available in form of capsule, and adult’s dose id 25 to 50 mg 3 or 4 times daily. It is not so comfortable, but you’ll have effect. You can have elixir, also used every 4 to 6 hours. Maximally dose for adults is 400mg in divided doses. But you are not acute patient. Benadryl will be effective, just use it properly.
