Palmer's cocoa butter formula concentrated cream (a thick layer is very soothing) and only using glycerin soap to wash with will help. Also, drink about 2 servings of not-from-concentrate coconut water per day.

My son gets this every winter. I just recently started using Jojoba Oil on the back of his hands and it definitely doesn't take it away, but it does provide some immediate pain relief whereas any lotion we would try would just sting his hands. You can get Jojoba Oil at a place like Wholefoods.

SOLUTION
Hey guys! I've had this problem for years. When i go out in public places like school that are a bit cold my hands get really ashy, dry, and very very purple. Lately even when im not in cold areas my hands are blood red on the back and it looks like someone hung me from a rope around my wrists. I told my parents and they gave me this random stuff we have called Protopic (tacrolimus ointment) 0.1%. I have been using it for a week now. At first i used it twice a day and now i just put it on before i go to bed. It makes my hands look normal in warm areas, and just a little weird in cold areas. Much better than before. I looked like i just punched a brick wall 20x's, which might be the problem because i did that some time ago. Other causes may be frostbite and burning, watch out for those. Now girls dont get scared of me because of my hands, just my face lol. :D

I've been dealing with this for weeks with both my hands and feet. Have gotten serval different medications from doctor, nothing worked. Then I read on line about using Apple cider vinegar. I went to Wal mart and bought Palmers E lotion, zinafax, vaseline and the apple cider vinegar.
1. soaked my hands and feet is 1/2 cup of vinegar and a gallon (4 liters) warm/hot water for about 30 mins. just before bed
2. Vaseline on hands and feet. For 10-15 mins. wipe off any excess.
3. Zinaflex and palmer lotion mixed together on hands and feet over night.
Palmers lotion when hands feel dry.
My hands and feet are improving, not cracking and bleeding as much. doing apple cider soak every 3rd night. Everything else nightly. Palmers lotion all day as needed. When I put my socks on in morning I rub zinaflex on feet first.

I have this too. Its Reynauds syndrome its a shame you have it so young but I also first noticed mine at a very young age. You should see your Dr as they can prescribe something to help but beware the meds can also make you very dizzy hence the reason I couldn't take them but they could work for you! You should try hydrocortisone. It's the only thing that helps the skin problems of my family. I tend to get eczema when the seasons change, and my mother has psoriasis.

Hello, I want to put some input into this as I also have dealt with this problem as you describe.
Just wondering if anyone experiencing depression ADD, Bipolar addictions smoking Drinking or drugs what about family members?
I say this because I have found eating wheat has caused this and now I have permanent nerve damage to my hands. I have since quit eating all wheat’s processed foods and my red rash has gone but I still have nerve Damage and get outbreaks or sores on my hands when it is cold.
I have learned everything I said above comes from wheat or processed foods with wheat.
Don’t depend on your Doctor in telling you any truth! They will be glad to Do hundreds of tests and give you the runaround and keep you in the system and milk you dry!
Anyway I believe a lot of this has done with gluten which intern effects are blood and sticky pallets and does all kinds of havoc.
I sought help from Doctors and from there they destroyed my life with there lies and deceiving drugs!
Not so say the run around from Doctor to Doctor and you will never get a true answer. I know it is Gluten which is in everything so good luck.

Are you allergic to dyes, I was told to take Benadryl for hives (redness in arms and bumps) I found out from pharmacist that there are dyes in medications and I was allergic to them so to buy nondye generic brand Benadryl but I still need to find a nondrozy med for this with no dye. I think the dye in overcounter med is making my reaction. I was told not to use lotion with lanolin in it that will make your hands itch.
