I wish it would go back to normal. Had the procedure done in 2010 due to heavy periods and anemia. I never ever had a problem with vaginal dryness before the ablation. So disappointed that I wasn't informed that this could happen. Looking for a good solution. Anyone!!

I had the ablation in Aug 2017, and noticed dryness @43 year old. I thank God my husband is understanding, and I'm determined to enhance our sexual connections and comforts. My husband is 58 years old , and has experienced some changes, of his own. We found astroglide products helpful, Replense is ok but created white discharge (not sexy) , and vagisil prohydrate beads to be useful, during intercourse. My hormones are still intact and I still get turned on, but we really have to plan our intercourse after 10 years of an active sexuality with one another.

How soon after the ablation did the vaginal dryness start? I had one 6 years ago. Things started to change within the first year and now my vaginal dryness is just the norm. I am not premenopausal, and I just feel like something is wrong with me. I haven't spoken to my doctor about this, although she is the one who performed the procedure.

Disappointing! I am 43 and never had dryness issues until i had my ablation in January this year. I have yet to discuss with my doctor, but i have an appointment next week. I too, was never told this was a possible side effect after the procedure.

I had mine in Feb 2018 and I have the same issues with the dryness. Never had it prior to the ablation. If I would have known what I know now, I never would have done it. I also experienced pain while having sex, went back to my doctor and she said everything was fine. I needed up with a UTI took the antibiotics and was 95% back to normal. Ruined my sex life!!!!!!

I had the ablation done and never had a period since. I also take a lot of prescribed narcotics for back problems and other psychological issues. I have noticed severe dryness since the ablation. Like you, i feel i may be the only that suffers and have low self esteem during sex and foreplay due to dryness.
I asked my mother, knowing that she too suffers from vaginal dryness and pain during sex. She finished menopause years ago now. She told me of a medicine from her gyno that comes in a tube that you use daily, inserted by a small applicator that helps to regenerate the lining or something, to help your uterus or whatever etc to recreate natural lubrication. It is very expensive but says after daily use for about a week it helped her body to produce lubrication. It is not something that you have to use before sex. Its something you take as soon as you desire and take for the reccommened length and your body will start to produce lubrication on its own. Have you had your estrogen levels checked to see if that is the cause? Or medications that could be causing dryness? I am going to be asking my gyno about all of this at my next appt. Good luck.

I've experienced the same exact things with the Dr./nurses after I had the surgery. Before it done I WAS JUST FINE DOWN THERE! NOR WAS I TOLD THAT DRYNESS WOULD BE PART OF THE AFTERMATH... SMH

You are not alone. Ever since I had the ablation I have been dry and the sex is not as fulfilling as it was before. I had mine done 2 years ago and had I known that my vagina would go through all of these changes I would have kept the bleeding.

I had the procedure done about 7 years ago now. I was lucky to have never have even spotted after the ablation. I was looking for this exact question. I thought it was maybe all my meds. And some of it can be part of the dryness. But before I was on this strong of meds. I experienced dryness soon after the procedure. I also was not informed that my wet glands could be damaged. I do know there is a medication that is expensive but out there. I had asked my mom if she had ever experienced such dryness. She was given a sample of the medication. I will have to find the name. She used it every day for a week and it worked wonderfully. She hasn't experienced dryness since. Again she told me its expensive but for me it's worth it because I feel the same way, insecure and bad that my husband doesn't understand and thinks I'm not turned on or excited with him anymore.
What I've been doing is giving him oral and leaving a lot of saliva on to help the dryness going in.
