Hi, I would like to ask something about my sisters health condition. She had a breast cancer. After the examination, it was concluded that chirurgical removal of the part of the left breast must be performed. Of course, only the part attacked by the cancer cells. The other part of the treatment would be radiotherapy. This happened several months ago. Now, during the radiotherapy she feels very ill and vomits often, she is weakened. Everything that she has been given against vomiting does not help. I would like to know about the effect of dexamethasone and its antimimetic action.
Dexamethasone is corticosteroid that can show its antimimetic effect in people that suffer from vomiting (caused by radiotherapy or citostatic therapy). It is often used with other antimimetic, it has the greatest effect in that case (usually mixed with metoclopramid). This combination could help your sister but I guess that has to be checked first. I hope I helped, at least a bit.
