Hi, folks. My friend has been diagnosed with the endocarditis of the right heart. I know that this is a serious condition and that the treatment should be aggressive. I think that he got vancomycin for this. What do you think about this? I would really be grateful to hear your opinion.

Hi, there. Endocarditis is a serious medical condition. It is an inflammation of the inner layer of the heart. It can be even life-threatening if it isn’t treated on time. Vancomycin is a very strong antibiotic. It isn’t used for common infection. I think it is a good choice for your friend’s case. If you have any doubts, consult your friend’s doctor. Good luck with all! Bye!

Hi, everyone. I would agree with the previous post. Vancomycin is indeed a powerful antibiotic. It is prescribed for serious infections. I think that in your friend’s case it will be given intravenously. You cannot expect that it could be given orally in this case. Consult a doctor for more details. I am sorry I am not familiar with them. Good luck with all! Bye!

Hello, good people. I have also heard about the effectiveness of vancomycin. It is reliable when it comes to Staph infections. However, some types of Staphs appeared which are resistant to vancomycin. They are known as VRSA – Vancomycin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The first ones were isolated in 2002. There is also a case of Vancomycin intermediate Staphylococcus aureus – VISA. However, this is still rare. I hope I’ve helped a little. Good luck!
