So she does recover? I already was having back problems so sure didn't need this on top of everything else. BTW I assumed this forum was for women?

I am experiencing the same problems. My breasted were swollen for days. I'm in a lot of pain and have now scheduled an appt with my OBGYN. This pain doesn't feel normal it feels very achy and makes it hard for me to really move. I do not wear my bra because it is irritation and not only that I just feel very uncomfortable. If I didn't know any better it's almost as if I had breast implants. I hope this is only temporary and not permanent damage this is the very first and probably be the last. I have enough pains with MS & Fibromyalgia. I hope I get an answer to the pain soon since its been a month after the mammogram..

My tissues still feel irritated and at times itchy and it's been over 2 weeks now. However I go to an amazing Chinese m.t. who has been working on my lymph nodes for the past few years so he knows my body well. What he thinks happened is that the mammocrusher disturbed calcium deposits in my lymph nodes and they were pushed down into the smaller ducts. He wants to do a lymphatic drainage and while I'm not crazy about having a male m.t. work on that area of my body I may have no choice. He's helped other women with breast problems so he's seen it all. I'm upset and angry because I wasn't having any problems before the mammo. I know I should see my dr. since she really should know that I've been injured by this procedure but I keep putting it off.
Interesting that you say you have Fibromyalgia since my m.t. has many clients with this and usually finds that they have clogged lymph nodes. I thought that's what I had as well since I'm so prone to inflammation!

Yes I had a mammogram 3 weeks ago and my nipples have been itchy, more so when I wear a bra. I'm totally stressed out about this and am hoping that lymphatic drainage therapy will alleviate my problem.

I just had the same thing happen to me, except it was on the big machine. My skin was sticking to it and when she moved my breast to re-position it i received a pinch that was not normal and when i got home i noticed a 6" skin tear. I'm really surprised that it didn't bleed. The only thing that i'm worried about is a staph infection. Not knowing if the disinfecting wipe down of the platform happened or not. This morning i have tiny little bubbles where hair follicles are and it is itching like crazt.

Same exact thing happened to me. 9 months of needle-like pain to this date. I'll never get another one !! When I told my gyno about it, she suggested putting cabbage leaves on my breasts??? I hate when Dr's try to treat your symptoms instead of finding out WHY you are hurting !

I dont want to go back anymore for this type of mammogram, the tech after i screamed from the pain turn down more pressure. I felt like i was going to faint and felt sick to my stomach and light headed! I am under constant throbbing pain since. I fell that damage was done to tissue from this and putting me at higher risk for cancer.

I recently had a mammogram and I feel as though my breasts have changed also....they no longer fit the same way in my sports bra's...I also developed a boil on my left breast shortly after the mammogram...they didn't see anything on the mammogram but they want me to come back for an ultrasound.....I was told it was due to the denseness of my breasts....I am going to insist they NOT give me another mammogram....thanks for sharing your story I thought I was losing it thinking that my breasts were different....

Needle-like pain is probably due to blocked lymph nodes. I've had 4 lymphatic drainage treatments from my m.t. and I'm still uncomfortable. He can feel all kinds of little lumps in my tissues from the blocked ducts. The itching although not constant is driving me crazy. This is going to take some time to resolve and I'll sure never get another mammogram again!

Seriously you people are so ignorant! Trust the science and stop spreading your propaganda. What else can you add to your list of modern evils?

I have had many mamograms at the Women's Center at my Gyno's hospital location. Always techs have been compassionate and caring. Yesterday I went for my annual mamogram and long story short I wound up wth ripped open skin areas under both breasts 2 inches or longer on each. Called my Doctors office and epressed my concern mostly because I am immune compromised and have diabetes so I try and stay away from things getting infected. They said to use Neosporin and gauze to keep the area dry and clean. No real explainatiions. To call back if i think it gets infected/ I do intend to call the hospital administration and lodge a complaint.

This is definately the fault of the technician

I had exactly the same experience, I also had bruising, I think women don't realise this is as common as it is, we should all speak up. I have spoken to friends one was told its because your breast are small another large and mine because they're dense!!!!!!

I have only had two in my life and I'm 56, and I vow to never have another. I'm still aching after three days and I regret having it entirely. The alternative is to ask for a Thermogram which measures heat and is much safer. No matter how guilty they make me feel for not having one, I know better now.

I had a mammogram in 2014 which I was told I had a lump and they wanted to do a biopsy, after the biopsy they put a chip in the lump so the lump could be tracked. two months after the chip was put in I began having pain in the breast they put the chip in. I told the dr. and she said it was nothing. had my yearly mammogram this year. all good, but the pain continues to intensify. any suggestions?? Thanks
