my first 3 cycles where 25 - 27 days then the previous 2 were 32 days and this month 28 days and although very heavy, stopped suddenly on day 4.... then started again this morning a little.... its been doing that for the last 3 cycles. It's weird but that's just proof that our bodies are trying to figure out what's what still. That's why they say give it at least a year.

So true it all make sense. I was actually a little relieved today when I started my period early it made me feel like it wasn’t me just going crazy there really is something up. When you expierenced intrsuive thoughts about your partner/ loved ones did it make you anxious around them? It’s just awful isn’t it.

It did make me anxious to be around them especially cause it was so sudden, I struggled to eat dinner that night because I was freaking out so much. I was like what's going on , this is not like me etc... I only told my hubby a few weeks back about those thoughts and shame he was so understanding and it made me feel safe. the worst is fighting this alone and being too afraid to speak out in case someone thinks you've lost the plot ... then I got scared he was going to leave me or die or something, then those thoughts changed and work become the issue, I would have panic attacks just thinking that I had to get up and go to work, afraid of being alone at home in case I hurt myself, etc I was scared to be around other peoples children because I just didn't trust what was happening in my mind.... it was a terribly dark place to be in .... and just when I thought I couldn't carry on, it would feel like a clout lifted and I could think rationally again, then there would be a trigger that would start the cycle all over again..... so I totally get where you at and I wish I could be holding your hand through this and telling you its going to get better and eventually life will make sense and be as though this never happened.

I started seeing patterns at different points of my cycle so keep a period calendar on your phone or something to track (ovia is a really nice one). some days you might feel like you going backwards instead of getting better but its not true.... I struggled terrible depression as well through it and just couldn't find enjoyment in anything, not even the simple things I enjoy doing like colouring, spending time with loved ones etc.... its just seemed pointless but you have to just keep telling yourself you can get through this, you going to be fine. I would take walks in the beginning cause it helped with calming the anxiety and hot baths with Epsom salts, being in water was very soothing, stopped the physical tremors.

one things for sure.... no more birth control!!!!!!! lol :-)

Yeah worst thing ever to go through !
I ended up telling my partner straight away bless him he’s very understanding and I have told my whole family.
I figured if I was actually a bad person and wanted to do these things it’s not something I would feel the need to confess to and be so anxious about.
Just can’t wait to be better.
I have my appetite back now the first few weeks I could t eat anything so maybe everything will fall into place soon :)

Exactly right! you more brave than I was that's for sure.
Eating helps a lot, that was my first clue.... it was hard but I forced it in. Sugar and coffee made it worse so I stayed away from that for a while.
You already making progress which is good news.... and you have a good support structure as well. I'm grateful for my mom as she went through some strange stuff with menopause so when I started telling what I was experiencing , she was so understanding! I even had my perception of reality challenged. nothing made sense in my head so I'm grateful it's over.... I still feel a little nervous after the whole experience though if that makes sense..... I don't ever want to go back there.... but it makes the saying more real "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" that's a truth

I just wish we could erase this time in our lives.
It’s definitely changed my outlook on things though, don’t sweat the small stuff because none of that matters when your going through something like this !

So I found tis article by Robert Rister , the first paragraph makes TOTAL sense now and helps with understanding why we are experiencing such severe symptoms


Fear, Anxiety, Mood Swings And Coming Off The Pill

Women's brains are hard-wired to be protective of their bodies and of their children. The female brain is uniquely sensitive to estrogen, so that the more estrogen is in a woman's bloodstream, the harder it is for the brain to rewire itself after a frightening or worrisome experience. Estrogen literally causes the brain to fixate on scary events.

When would a woman's estrogen levels go up? Estrogen powers the first half of the menstrual cycle. It stimulates growth in the lining of the uterus that prepares it just in case the egg (or eggs) released by the fallopian tubes become fertilized. Once the egg is released, about the middle of a woman's cycle, estrogen levels fall and progesterone levels increase so that the the fertilized egg can "take" in the lining of the uterus.

Coming off any kind of contraceptive that also stops menstruation will result in higher estrogen levels than a woman has known while she was on the Pill. Coming off a "combination Pill" may result in higher estrogen levels when a woman stops taking it. Because a woman's estrogen levels are higher during the first 14 days of her period, any withdrawal effects will be greatest during the first half of her period (which may or may not be 14 days) until she ovulates. Fear, anxiety, obsession-compulsion, and panic should be less of a problem until the next period, when the cycle will start all over again.

Of course, women are already very familiar with the problems that accompany their menstrual cycles. These just come back, sometimes with a vengeance, when they stop the Pill.

Another common occurrence after cessation of the Pill is a surge in the body's production of follicle stimulating hormone. This isn't due to a change in woman's ovaries, as would be the case in a disease condition called Turner's syndrome. It's simply a side effect of being on the Pill. For up to a year, ovulation may come with visible symptoms, so that women both feel a pain in the middle when they ovulate, and see changes in their bodies. The cervix may pull up, soften a bit, and open a little wider, to accommodate sexual intercourse that could fertilize the egg. The cervical mucus (the stuff that gets your underwear sticky) may loosen so it can transport sperm more readily. Crusty secretions become fluid secretions, and dark secretions typically become lighter. These signs of ovulation may be more intense for up to a year after a woman comes off the Pill.

What can you do about these problems?
•Not to minimize this very real problem, but you may need to wait. It can take up to 12 months for a woman's body to figure out it's no longer on the Pill.
•Pay close attention to changes in the time of ovulation. Not every woman is automatically fertile exactly 14 days after her period. If pregnancy is not desired, then it is important to avoid unprotected sexual intercourse with a male partner up to five days before ovulation. This may mean no sex sooner after the period than before.
•In the most severe cases, doctors can treat excessive production of follicle stimulating hormone. Ironically, as long as FSH production is too high, the chances of pregnancy are lower than normal (although not zero). However, this problem usually sorts itself out in about 12 months.

Women's discomfort when coming off the Pill is not something doctors should trivialize. The problems of hormonal imbalances are very real, and deserve sympathy. Treating the problem, however, can involve complications that could cause side effects that almost as bad as the original symptoms, so make every effort, if you can, to withstand the discomfort. It will eventually go away. If you do choose to go back on birth control, you may want to ask about the mini-Pill (although it's not as protective against pregnancy) and to avoid contraceptives that sometimes can completely stop menstruation, such as Yaz.

any one else get super obsessive during certain types of their cycle towards people? like non stop can't think of anyone else and its really weird cause normally I would be fine? feels like my brain is about to crack

I definitely get this. I feel pretty bad during PMS but after it doesn't get better. Some of my worst days have been towards the end of my period.

Currently on day 40 of my 5th cycle, feeling nauseous, dizzy, anxious :(

I've been having that... last cycle was hardly noticeable, this cycle though OMW !!! the anxiety and depression is rough.... not as bad as when initial symptoms started but bothersome enough to make me wonder if this will ever stop or am I stuck like this forever? symptoms started October 2018... stopped pill August 2018
