I'm going through the same thing as you. When I saw an ENT last week, he seem to think it was my heart. But before I had seen him, i had 4 normal EKGs. My cardiologist did do a stress test and echo last week. Still waiting on test results. I have a Rx for low dose valium. It seems to help sometimes but not all. I'm curious what your stress test and echo showed. Good luck to you because anxiety is a hard to live with if you can't get it under control. I've lived with it for 30 years. It started in my early 20s and was taking Xanax for a long time. It was hard to get off them but i finally did. I've been able to control it for about 10 years without medication but this year i feel i need sometime to have a normal day.

I've been dizzy, like i'm standing on a boat, for the past 4 years. every day. It's not vertigo, anxiety, heart condition, nerves, BPPV, menieres, brain tumor, ear infection, lack of water, lack of salt, too much salt, lack of electrolytes, high fiber, low fiber, allergies or any other nonsense. have been to doctors, had MRI, MRA, face scan, brain scan, CT, xray, you name it. not one doctor has a clue. I expect to have this c**p for the rest of my life. It came out of the blue, not from a trip, ear infection, car accident, I wasn't hit on the head. Sometimes things just break, and there's no fix.

ChrFle, I'm really interested to know if cpap for Sleep Apnea helped you with the symptoms? I'm considering the same for a situation similar to yours.

LONG story, but Ill make this short.
**spoiler alert: turns out I was extremely deficient in Vitamin D (avg person should be around 20ng/ml to 60ng/ml) I was at 5.2ng/ml***
Symptoms was 100% like the original post. Out of no where at work i got extremely light headed, thought it would pass out, but never did. Started to Freak out.. Pretty sure I had a LONG anxiety attack (Never had one before). Couldn't walk more than a few steps without feeling pressure in my head, getting foggy and feeling like i was going to pass out. I did not and luckily a fire station was close by and asked them to take a look. BP was off the chart 220/ 120.. they then freaked me out more saying I was going to stroke or have a heart attack..
2 ER visits, 1 Urgent Care, 1 Toxicologist, 1 (new) Primary Care doc and NO ONE KNEW what the hell was wrong with me and believed I was just fine (BP after returned to 118/80), with one ER doc giving me a 2 day dose of ativan (which I refused to take).
Primary doctor went off the rails and scheduled me a neruo exam for F-ing Seizures, as he believed my heart was just fine (even with random palpitations).
I took it on myself to go to Cardiologist a day before neurologist and after a lot of tests he too sad I was fine and also did some blood work.
The Cardiologist did give me a 24hr heart monitor to wear and I tried to walk home from doc (2 miles). Got about half way and felt VERY light headed (not dizzy).
Took a break, and grabbed a beer at a pub. (note: drinking helped a lot)
That day, I ate chicken Alfredo and Caesar salad and for dinner had a large cod fish sandwich and a mini turkey burger.
Woke up the next day and felt actually great, which was upsetting because I wanted to get good readings on the heart monitor and be symptomatic at the neurologist.
Since my initial episode 3 weeks ago, I was VERY sensitive to caffeine and my body did not like it, even though I am a HEAVY coffee drinker.
However, I chose to drank a medium coffee that day, just to try and trigger symptoms.
While at the neurologist he seemed Extremely pessimistic about this being brain related, but scheduled an EEG for that afternoon.
While waiting for the EEG appt, the cardiologist called me and said I had VERY LOW Vitamin D and should take 5000 IU (vitamin D3 NOT D2) a day for 6 months.
At first, I was pessimistic, but relieved that FINALLY at least something was found.
I googled Vitamin D deficiency and BAM!!.
I then started to think, i actually feel pretty good today, which is NOT normal since my episode 3 weeks ago and I had a good cup of coffee in me.
I then put 2 and 2 together and realized that with the sardines in Ceaser dressing and the Fish sandwich I ate the night before, it actually seems to fit.
I decided to chance it and drank another medium coffee.
On an empty stomach, i felt fine.
Could feel the high of the caffeine, but still FINE.
Again, there is FAR more to this story, but the above is the basics..
I am not sure WHY IN THE HELL vitamin deficiencies are not tested in the ER, let alone by a toxicologist.
When feeling very light headed and extreme anxiety one day, I found this blog and it put me at ease.
I felt comfort that at most I may just have is an onset of anxiety and I wont die.
I never post on forums, but felt compelled to share my story.
Trying to google "light headed" when that is your only symptom is INSANELY difficult, due to people using the term DIZZY, including doctors.
Also, lightheartedness is a symptom of a gazillion things.
I hope this helps someone and realize that you ALWAYS need to start with the simplest things before jumping into possible major problems.
I will update if my symptoms return.
