There should be a category for people for whom pregnancy is not an issue. I have been having nausea and don't know what is the cause. Eating seems to help. Why is this?

I have been nauseous almost all day every day for the past six weeks or so.  I have diabetes, neorapathy, high blood pressure and acid reflux (although it doesn't burn the doctor says it's acidic).  I also think I may have a hyadil hernia.  I take a lot of different medications but I have done so for quite a while without this problem.  I get the nausea all the time whether or not I have eaten and after eating any type of food.  I go to a "free" clinic so I have very limited health care and do not know what kind of tests to ask the doctor about. I am in my 50's and am risk of losing my apartment in the next 2 months so maybe it is stress related also.  My blood sugar and blood pressure are not under control and I am not responding very well to medication and now this.  If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.  Thank you.

Hi, I recently went to the doctor and I told him about how I felt nauseous ALL the time, no matter after i ate or what. Well, he told me that it might just be my allergies, since I have drainage all the time,( I actually didn't even notice I did, until he checked) he said that the drainage constantly going into my stomach is what was making me nauseous all of the time, so he prescribed a nasal spray and Zyrtec, and I have been feeling much better ever since, I just wanted to suggest this to anyone else, just to try, if it doesn't work, at least you know :] Hope I could help someone!

Could be lactose intolerance.

Apparently many people only develop it in adulthood.

Try cutting lactose out of your diet for a week and see if you feel any better.

For 2 weeks already I've been feeling nauseous , I get really hungry but once I take a bite of food my appetite goes away /: I'm not pregnant for sure cause I have never had sex . What could it be ? I'm on 17 so Im pretty sure it's not stress , I'm not working and I'm not currently in school . My mom said it's my lack it sleep some nights I only get 3 hours of sleep but some days I sleep for 12 hours ! But I don't think thats a reason for me to be feeling this way . The past 2 days I have had stomach pains , I'm scared something is seriously wrong with me :( but my mom just tells me to have a regular sleeping schedule . Ahh help !

I understand what your daughter is going through. I wanted to reply to you as a fellow kentuckian going through the same thing. I am still seeing doctors for the nausea after this has been going on for over 3 years. My doctor in Paducah is wanting me to have a glucose tolerance test, as diabetes runs rampant in my family. I know this sounds terrible but hopefully that will be it! Good luck to you and your daughter....hopefully something will be done soon!!!

Maybe if western medicine isn't helping you, you should try eastern medicine.

I have been having a similar problem. I have been nauseous for about a month now, it seems to be worse while and after i take a shower. I haven't thrown up but i feel so nauseous to the point where i can't get up off my bathroom floor. It also acts up more at night. I have tried eating nothing but crackers and water and nothing seems to help. I have taken pregnancy test and they have come back negative. I don't know what is wrong with me, and its causing me to have panic attacks because its been a month and i have no health insurance to go to the doctors. It doesn't seem to be letting up no matter what i do. I have tried taking luke warm showers and i only stay in long enough to wash my hair and body, and even that seems to make it worse. Any ideas on what this could be?

If you don't have insurance, try taking yourself of all gluten for a month and see if that helps...Gluten is in a lot of things (even lipstick and some red meat and seafood that uses 'meat glue'), so get a list on line..and a lot of people can't tolerate it. otherwise go to a GI doctor. If one dr. isnt helpful try a different. Dr.'s are just like any other business...some are good and some aren't as good. I've found if you're under 65 they think you are paranoid or depressed. If you give them your old insurance card, they will likely not know until later and then just bill you. Not that  decieving a dr. is a good thing, but you need to get some help! I've had the same problem (the whole reason I finally got insurance). The tests they want to do aren't cheap. But, medical bills are looked at differently on your credit report and many dr.'s will negotiate a payment plan with you. You can also, just show up at an E.R. when your symptoms are bad and they will do all sorts of test and bill later (they can't turn you away). Or get health insurance...pay for it for the time you are getting the tests and then cancel (1-2 months). It will cover you while you are paying. You could also try accupunture. i've had great results with that for past issues. If traditional medicine can't find anything it can't hurt. Prices aren't cheap, but try negotiating...Better for them to make $30 than nothing!

I've had the same thing for a long time and it's been getting worse. It sounds like something is deff. not right for you. After lots of dr.'s just blowing me off I'm finally getting some where...not that I have any answer yet. But at least they are starting to listen and not think I'm a hypochondriac. I've started throwing up what looks like dried blood (lovely) and can't count on keeping any meal down. Restaruants are no fun. Plus, lately I have absolutely  no energy. I sleep 14 hours a day and need to do that and lay around for a week to have 1-2 good days. I can't work, don't go to the gym lately and can barely keep up with normal stuff (laundry, cooking, etc). Uhhhggg

I've been trying to get insurance for a while now and every place i try either is to expensive, the people that work there are no help, or I don't get approved. I've been trying to stay away from dairy and heavy foods, but i still feel nauseous. Drinking a sports drink seemed to help a little though.

But now i am starting to get pains in my lower abdomen on the right side. I don't really know what that could be from.
