And its not like a strep throat type of pain. Its like a pain that something is launched in my throat and everytime i swollow its stabbing me. I dont know what it can be. Im terrified. I tried the hole bread thing and i didnt seen to knock it down. Its painful, what do i do?

I am moved to read your Testimony, and I ask that you please pray also for me as this sensation of having something stuck in my throat is driving me insane and dragging my mood down. I'm on holiday with my family right now, and I am unable to enjoy it on account of this feeling. It comes and it goes and it returns and I can barely take it any longer. I'm scared to eat or drink, yet I do it out of necessity (and in many cases eating good food and drinking things such as Apple Juice have offered periods of freedom from it) but I'm going crazy with it and keep trying to cough up something that isn't there :( So again, please pray for me that I may too have relief and freedom from this awful thing. God Bless you, Love in Jesus. Alex

It started 5 months ago when I noticed that it seems something stucked in my throat. Sometimes it’s painful. My both ears are painful too. My doctor said nothing is wrong but I feel uncomfortable. I’m always tired too and exhausted. I hope somebody would know my sickness. Thanks and God bless!

Another possibility to consider is acid reflux. I had this "lump in my throat" feeing for several maddening months, and finally was told it was a side-effect of GERD -- Gastroesophageal reflux disease. Try switching to a milder diet (cut coffee, tea, acidic foods in general, and late-night chomping), take Tums when you feel this symptom, and go to the doctor to get it checked out. My doctor prescribed prilosec; it hasn't eliminated that feeling in the back of my throat, but it has reduced it.

After reading some of the other comments on here, I want to note that the first time I went to my doctor, he suggested it was allergies. Others suggested tonsil stones that perhaps I could reach or see. It drove me crazy, because I knew that neither of these were the case, but no other symptoms were visible in my throat. I pushed back at my doctor with a second visit, at which point he prescribed a barrium swallow upper GI series test. The results do show reflux, as expected.

For what it's worth, I'm a 25 year old girl. I've suffered GERD on and off for the past 5 years, though the lump-in-the-throat feeling began only a couple months ago, and I did not think to associate this feeling with heartburn. It was likely triggered because I was taking Naprosen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID), for an injury while I underwent physical therapy.

Good luck to you all!

I've had this twice now. This is a bit of a long story, but shows just how I identified what it was, and how I eliminated it (without the use of Doctors) Both of these x2 times I have had this feeling of a food particle on the right side of the back of my throat that appeared out of the blue, not long after a big meal. Because of this, the assumption lead me to believe was likely to be a bit of food initially, until it was there for days afterwards.

First time around, I had it for about 4-6 weeks before it disappeared. No pain from it. It was on one side, felt like a bit of food, then once I knew what it was likely to be after some research, it felt more of a stationary spot at the back of the tongue/throat rather than a bit of food. It would always cause irritation while swallowing, and would ease or increase in severity/irritation depending on types of foods, drinks, even times of the day and night, like swallowing a large mouthful of bread would "catch" this idle bit of whatever it was and pull it away from the throat - Because I can't get down deep enough without choking. I'm sure by now, there are a few of you who have the exact same thing I have had and are wondering what methods I used that worked for me??

That was 2 years ago. Today, I eat better, drink better. I haven't had any issues in these last 2 years and feel better than I ever did since cutting out GM products (Dorito crisps, biscuits etc. - Yes I know, they're great tasting products, but cutting them out will show you the difference) and sticking to pure meats, veg, fruits, fish, unfluoridated water (only filtered bottle water) and vitamins. Sure I have a treat once in a while, nice bar of chocolate or cake lol. I haven't had to visit a doctor, and to be honest, I don't always trust their pharmaceutical interests to push and promote pills that only mask the symptoms and don't prevent the diseases in the body. Everything can be cured by what earth provides already. Without trying to sound like a tree hugging hippy (trust me, I'm not) I smoke, but have cut out all cigarettes during the week in place of a CE4 e-cig device.

I cured x2 things recently - A long 5 year on and off "Sinusitis" and this spot-like feeling in the back of the throat. Because here in the UK, the weather has dropped dramatically now, I found myself exposed out in the cold for a long period of time with nothing more than a T-Shirt on and just knew I'd suffer with a cold of some sort. Well, what I ended up with first of all was sinusitis. For those who don't know Sinusitis is an internal swelling and bacterial build up of a nasal (or other) passageway (in the face) causing runny noses and can (and in my case "did") causes painful throbbing on one side of the upper mouth during and after eating for around 30 minutes - 1 hour. Upper gums in one side feel inflamed making it impossible to eat on one side. Well, I drunk a lot of organic ginger root extract juice, and curcumin (which you can find in health shops) curcumin is a natural anti-inflammatory - Yup that's right, an anti inflammatory that is natural and not a pill. I also oddur controlled/odor free garlic oil capsules (I hate the smell of garlic, and would hate to smell of it) and had paid a lot because it had "allicin" in it. Note, that not all garlic supplements are the same. Like food - You get what you pay for. Allicin is the product contained within garlic that has the antibacterial property's. Taking these for a week, it cleared the sinusitis so I stopped taking them. Days later, weather still cold, I had the sneezes for a day, and the next day (last week) I had that feeling.

I used the above, and a neti pot, and it was gone in 3 days. - Yes a neti-pot, take a look at one of those, it doesn't look nice lol, but it worked. 3 DAYS. gone!!!

Last time I had this spot/lump feeling a few years back I was eating poor quality foods and taking no good quality supplements; I had this for 4-6 weeks. We as humans need to change our eating habits. Don't eat artificial foods, no McDonalds, or KFC's, no cheap processed supermarket rubbish. It's a hard habit to break. I still have the odd "takeaway" food, and treats of a slice of cake and so on, but I have never had a McDonalds, Subway, KFC, Burger King or anything like that in 2 years. No cheap artificial "dog meat" products pertaining to be "meat", no processed rubbish. Our body's IF fed on proper foods regularly - IE; healthy greens, fruits, and meats that derive from grass fed cattle (like a car is with the correct oil and gas) then the body will be in a better position to defend and repair itself a lot quicker. Natural IS better. The less chemicals we cut out of our diets and the more we replace them with real foods, you'll see a huge difference

My situation seems to be a little different.  For 2 weeks, I had the sensation of a blockage in my throat and it hurt only when I swallowed.  When I pushed on the center of my neck (where a female's adam's apple would be) it hurt.  I went to ENT, he scoped and found a very large cyst.  He is removing it next week, using a microscope/laser tool.  Nervous? yes, but it will be nice to be out of discomfort.  GL to all of you that you find out the root cause.
