Hi all, I have had the same annoying condition going on 3 years and no Dr, nor specialist can tell me what it is, I loose my voice, dry mouth, feels like throat is closing when I lay down at night, my chest also feels like a cobweb, sticky feeling but all tests have come back negative. They say it could be stress related. Just had to prove yo my husband that I am not alone in this, and that there are a lot ops suffers who I can identify with. We should call ourselves the Hackers literally.

This happened to me a few days ago, try patting your chest like you burp a baby. This helps TONS.

When it first happened to me,, I woke up hardly being able to breathe. Then when I sat up, I felt like something was stuck in the top my throat that was restricting my breathing even more and kept trying to snort it out as hard as I could. I did this for awhile until suddenly I felt something slide down my throat. I could breathe normally again!!!
Then came the bubbles. It was horrible. Drinking water didn't help. Then I figured out to pat my chest (or wherever I felt the bubble was, up to my throat, upper chest, mid-chest, they seem to travel downward.) In doing so I was able to get little burps out. I had to do this for many days, but the air in my throat started to subside by each day. A tip is to walk around patting your chest, not sitting.

I'm about to get gross here, but an interesting thing I found is that I was pooping clear mucus. A lot of it, no regular BM's. In trying to figure out on the web why this very unusual thing was occurring, , I read that people have the mucus naturally in their intestines to help them poop, and that mucus is also lined in the esophagus (to help food go down.) When the I stopped pooping this clear mucus, the bubbles in my throat were no longer occurring. . Found that interesting.

I really hope this helps people in the future.

Thank you for the info. I had a fever for 24 hours and nothing else. two days later I had a feeling of something stuck in my throat. I have been gargling with salt water, apple cider vinegar and Aloe Vera. Hopefully this will subside.
I mentioned this to a coworker because she also went home with a fever that week, she said, she has the exact feeling of something stuck in her throat, and she doesn't have her tonsils. So this is something that is going around.

Okay, so the reason I am here it's because I've reached some sort of breaking point. Last year, throughout all winter and I think for one, two, maybe three months before winter, I had the feeling that not only something was stuck in my throat, but it was rising. I don't remember the feeling well, but I think that might be the best way to describe it. Now, since I'm terrified of throwing up, that was my first thought and concern. A few days before Christmas, I really thought I was gonna throw up, because it started hurting. And I actually fainted just from the thought of it... I was convinced during all those months that I was just gonna throw up. I spent awful nights, forcing myself awake, rubbing my throat and stomach. I don't completely remember how it felt, like I said, or if it felt like it does now. I talked to my parents several times about how I felt (underage), specially when my mom would get angry that I stayed up all night "watching tv", not knowing the real reason why I wouldn't sleep until 5, 6 or 7am. I tried explaining her, but she would only tell me that I feel bad because I only eat c**p (forgive the language), or that I should get over it, or that it was all probably just in my head.
I don't blame her, I'm not the healthiest of people. I eat very little, and it's not because I have an eating disorder, I've just never been able to eat a lot, and I'm rather picky with food.
I've never had health problems, despite that, and besides having my weight just on the limit of "good" all the time, there was never nothing bad the doctors would point out.
That being said, though, I've always felt pain in my body. Sharp stabs, and pains, and sometimes I can't even breathe when that pain is on my lungs, because the sudden pain literally causes me to stop mid-breath. I know it's not smart of me, but I'm just briging it up to make my point: I don't usually complain. I don't conplain when it hurts, I don't complain when I something feels a bit off, because I just don't think it's necessary. Which is also not smart of me.
So if I told my parents about this, it's because it was really serious. It wasn't just something that bothered me, it was driving me insane. I couldn't sleep, and I eventually spent every single day wishing that I could sleep that night, since I was just so tired.
It stopped after a while, and I was beyond relieved.
So you can imagine the dread I felt when it all started again a couple of days ago. I don't know if it's the same feeling. I only know how it fees this time:
It's something solid, really solid. I feel it creeping up my throat, and I actually really can swallow it, only it doesn't go anywhere below the base of my throat, and then it makes its way back up. I can't lay down because it worsens the feeling a lot, so I sit in my bed, so sleepy it's frustrating, without being able to lay or put the feeling aside. I eventually fall asleep sitting down three or four hours before I have to get up. Tonight was the third night in a row I didn't get mkre than three hours of sleep, and my parents again keep yelling at me for staying up so late and then acting like a zombie all day. That's really how I'm acting, and it's another thing that concerns me, because having recovered from a depression after struggling with it for four years, I really don't wanna go back THERE.
This time, I KNOW I'm not gonna throw up, but I still don't know what this is. The other night, when I desperately tried to feel it to force it down (on my neck, of course), the right side of my throat felt stiff. Really hard, like it was stuck, and when I touched it, it hurt.
And the feeling of something "climbing" up my throat has been lasting throughout the day too, unlike last time. It just doesn't go away.
I'm sorry for the long story, but has anyone felt this?
After a six months nightmare, I don't want to "suffer" (I could be a lot worse after all) through this again, at least not oblivious as to what it might be. And after three nights of poor sleep, I feel like I've reached my limit. I'll talk to my parents again, and hopefully this time they'll believe it IS that serious, and that it IS preventing me from keeping a normal routine. If we go check it out and I find out what it is, I'll post it here for anyone who has been feeling this too.
Good luck, and get well soon, and I know it's unlikely that this whole thing is read, but if anyone has any answers for me, please, let me know, just in case.
Thank you.

My mother suffered from the sensation of something stuck in her throat for a couple years intermittently. She however also experienced difficulty swallowing. Not sure if anyone here has experienced these symptoms, but the condition achalasia is worth checking out.
Our doctor did not know about this disease and tried to say the symptoms were all in my mother's head. 3 years later, my mother has had surgery and she's nearly back to her normal eating.

Hello everyone, so I've been dealing with this for years. It started when I was about 13 or 14, and I am currently 18. I have such a hard time eating because every time I eat, food gets stuck in my throat. Sometimes it feels as if I am chocking and I panic. It's so weird because sometimes it gets stuck in the sides and sometimes it feels like it's stuck in the middle. The thing that scares me is that about two years ago I went through so many tests trying to figure out what it is. I had a scope done, I went through allergy testing, and have been to specialists. Yet, nothing. It's so hard for me and sometimes I just cry I get so frustrated. It's really weird also because even though it always bothers me every time I eat, sometimes it bothers me more at times. If anyone has any comments or advice I would appreciate it, thank you.
