I can hardly type this post because of ALL the blood sugar tests I have to do on my poor fingers!  I have to check them 4 times a day and have been doing this for over a year.  My fingers have about had it.  I even started going down a little ways on my fingers from the tips but this isn't working because I am getting less blood from there.  If I could reach my toes, I would do those and give my fingers a rest.

Does anyone have any ideas or solutions to this?  I wish I can cut down on my need for poking my fingers all the time but the doctor said I need to keep an eye on my blood sugars since they can be so unpredictable.  So there goes that idea.

I am hoping to find an alternate way of getting blood for my testing so does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.  The tips of my fingers will thank you!

I can definitely see why you are upset about having to prick your finger multiple times a day and have been doing so for quite a while at that!  Has the doctor told you about another option of getting a blood drop, like from your forearm?  This is a lancet that helps with producing a good drop of blood like on your arm where the sensitivity is not as bad as on your fingertips.  You may be able to ask your pharmacist if he/she carries this type of lancet.  When you use it, you will press firmly to allow a ‘circle’ of skin to raise up inside the clear cap of the lancet.  Then you depress the button to allow it to stick the skin.  You will not have the pain you would with sticking your fingers.  I hope this helps!
