Courtney you obviously have no idea what you are talking about!!! You most certainly are not more fertile on methadone, it's very hard to get pregnant on methadone unless you are on a low dose, so I'm not sure where ur information came from but that is incorrect.

Chances are low unless you are on a low dose!! I wish I would of known that before I went so high. I've been trying to get pregnant for 5 mths and after doing some research and taking to girls at my clinic I found out all of them got pregnant on 60mgs or lower! Yea so I started decreasing 5 a week now I'm at 95mgs and still trying so hopefully it'll happen soon but if your not trying than u'll be good if your on more than 60mgs!!!

Same situation for me. I've been asking the pregnant girls at my clinic and what I've come up with is they were all on 60mgs or less when they got pregnant. So I've been decreasing 5 a week hoping I'll get pregnant soon, but my fiance is on methadone to so I'm not sure how that comes into play, he's decreasing to so I believe the lower the dose the higher the chances are of getting pregnant!!

I've only been on methadone while pregnant and now I'mI'm not having a period. Seems like I was better off before, at least I had periods...and kids.

And also no Courtney right, it is easier to get pregnant on methadone than off as methadone helps to regulate your hormones, where as during habitual drug use they fluctuate up and down because of the instability and unpredictability of your drug use.... I've been on methadone for years and the administrator of my clinic had been doing strictly methadone for 30 yrs. Tina Woods. We're given classes about the methadone per oklahoma state guidelines. We're taught the do's and don't of methadone. All the meds that potientiate it, that contradict it and so on. I can even tell you it's begginings, they first started using methadone in the 60's for Vietnam vets. It was created in the 40s by the Germans and it's original name was adolphine. So yes, courts right. Sorry chick!!

Asia I could not say it better myself..... I have been with my husband for 17 years we were together before we used and are still together after. I'm 42 and all I want is for my husband and I to create a life that comes from both of us and I cannot bring myself to put a baby through that even though I'm going to miss out on the chance to have a Baby with my husband, I cannot bring myself to chance it. the fact that it can swing either way is the best comment I've heard... there's no way to tell if your baby is going to go through withdrawals so why risk it? Everyday my heart hurts for the baby that I want but it would hurt more to be selfish and put my child through something so messed up. I cannot plan to get pregnant and I can't make the mistake to get pregnant, I have to suffer the choices I made.

So you are able to get pregnant while on it? I have been so worried and scared that because im on methadone i wasnt able to get pregnant or it was going to be very very hard if at all possible
