I know this is a year out and well after the fact but trust me when I say this, there is a diminishing effect on your ability to orgasm after having greenlight laser surgery. Your ejaculate will be reversed, into the bladder and not out through the penis. That in itself is a huge downside. Your orgasm may be painful or at the least uncomfortable and not nearly as pleasurable as pre-surgery orgasms. There is the risk of bladder nerve or muscle damage creating the urge to go way more many times than should be necessary. The demand to go will far exceed the actual urine output so nothing is achieved by having this kind of procedure because you'll be running to the bathroom several times during the day and at night. Last, I had to make three separate trips to the ER while recovering, months after my procedure due to loose, necrotic tissue floating around inside my urethra that couldn't be passed, causing severe urine retention necessitating a catheter to relieve myself. My advice to anyone considering laser is to look for other alternatives, i.e. rezum or prostate stents to open up the channel. Avoid laser at all costs!

GL was one of the worse decisions of my life so far. I turned 52 yesterday. I had the surgery 9 months ago and I am struggling to cope. Poor erections, Retrograde ejaculation, decreased desire, and urinary urgency still exsist. I would only recommend this perceedure if you are done with sex. Not much to look forward to. Most of all I feel really bad for my wife, It is truly unfair to her. I should have done more research. Find other alternatives because it can't be undone!
