I am a 62 year old female with Fibromyalgia and degenerative arthritis. I feel I have a bladder infection and 4 or 5 different times over the last few days, I have had severe pain in my hands (not just the palm, but my whole hand and all fingers). This occurs on my trips to the bathroom when I have difficulty urinating. If the pain did not subside I would seriously need to go to the ER. This was a new symptom and quite alarming. Have not consulted doctor yet as we have been stuck in the house from recent blizzard. I thought I was crazy! The pain just rushes into my hands and feels as if they are in a vice. ?

Whew, I thought something mighty weird was going on and afraid to tell anyone especially my GP.
I am 63 year old female and the electric shock felt in both hands (top and bottom of hands) begins when I start to void for about 6-7 seconds. then eases off once urine starts to flow steadily.
Once in awile it will happen at the beginning of a bowel movement as well.
No urinary tract infection so was thinking maybe I should see a urologist and check for bladder cancer?

I have talked to many people about this and felt as though everyone thought I was crazy. For me the pain is usually when I have to urinate and before an occasional bowel movement. The pain not only goes to my hands but to my arms, my legs, and even my face. I get migraines every once in a while from it too. This started for me after having surgery two years ago. I hate the way I feel each day because of this and always have to make sure I am near a restroom because it hurts to wait.

Same as everyone here... What I want to know is when is a doctor going to pay attention to what we all are suffering from.  I have soooo many health problems, this one seems like it should be easy to deal with if not cure.  Just tell us what is going on if nothing else.  I am searching far and wide.  There has to be an answer somewhere in the silly wide web, if not then what good is it?

I will be seeing a Neurologist next month for another problem.  If I don't find an answer by then I will ask him what he thinks, then if I learn something I will come back and share it with EVERYBODY!

I ave the same problem as Glenda. It appears to be a UTI but can't be because it is usually gone the next day. I have not told m doctor because I am sure she will say it is because I smoke. That seems to be the cure for everything I complain about. I am 73 but if I quit smoking all my ailments will go away and I will feel like 30 (lol).

I am going to print these replies and show them to my Doctor. I do not like to be ridiculed. Every doctor I have told tells me they have

never heard of such a thing. And then they give me that funny look that means they think I am crazy.

I looked into also a uraligest(sp). This I am told can be a pain related to diabetes or a sign of bladder cancer. Some pregnancies also have symtems similiar. Bladder cancer also is alot of bladder infections. My mom (we found out) has a bladder infection. The antibiotic seems to help w/pain. But pain still exist. This w/ all the pain medicine shes on. Can't imagine without med's.

I have pain in my arms and hands when I urinate only when I have a bladder infection.  I have only noticed this to happen 2 times in the last 6 months.  I had mentioned it to my Doctor, he said he had not heard of this before but then it was me, I seem to have weird things to occur which is hard to explain.  I had this to happen in March (2012) when I had a bladder infection and I am sure I have an infection again and this is has happened everytime I urinate.  The pain is enough that it make me not wanting to go to the bathroom but with a bladder infection it seems that is all I am doing. I hope we can get a Doctor online to explain what is happening.  It is enough of a pain that it has me concerned that something else is going on, I have many health problems but none too serious.

I always get pain radiating down my arms and centering in my hands when I have a UTI and I urinate.  Whenever I get that I know that I'm in the throes of it and I need to get antibiotics fast.

I am suffering the same thing, I am 22 young girl and I have been gettin UTIs since 4th grade!(wasn't even sexually active) I have felt the wrist pain when I pee since I was 13 (only when I have UTIs) usually)) but I do get it somtime just out of nowhere it's not that bad of a feeling when not associatied with a UTI, it's more horrible when I have UTI, so anyways I think it makes sense in one comment I saw about the nerves and acupuncture, we must be swollen inside somwere and it's hitting a nerve- somthing like that*
