Hi! I have a best friend who was in your position, she had extreme endometriosis, was told to get prego now or have a hysterectomy. She tried everything from fertily treatments, invertro, i mean EVERYTHING! She gave up because she was told that it was imposible for her to get prego. She made a date for her hysterectomy and quit take her fertilty drugs. She freaking got pregnant the next month and now has a healthy baby boy! She had been trying for over 2 years to get pregnant! It took her a long time, but when its suppose to happen it will happen! Dont stess, that makes it harder. Try going to a local health food store and taking something natural instead of taking hormones. DONT give up!

I had lots of issues in the past - not with getting pregnant but staying pregnant, before I had the IUD put it. I had 4 successful and healthy babies, then decided to get the Mirena as I was told I could get pregnant right away when removed. I had it in for 4 1/2yrs., at age 38 (6 mos. ago). I have had regular periods since the removal, and we have been actively trying. So far with no success, which is unusual for me. Before the Mirena, I could walk past a fish tank and get pregnant - now 6 months later, I'm worried I might be infertile!
I understand that the usual comments from a Dr. is you must try for at least a year, before it's considered a problem. Well being the person with the problem, that seems like such a long time to be patient.
I've never used an Ovulation calculator, partly because I really like the old fashioned way (try until it happens) - but I'm also afraid, it might show that I'm not ovulating at all.
I completely regret ever getting the IUD put in! I wouldnt recommend it, unless the person was completely sure they were finished having kids.

I was pregnant within 8 months with my first child. Was put on the IUD after he was born. For 2 years I had it in and I enjoyed it, enjoyed the light periods! The end of July we decided to start trying again and took it out. 6 months later I recieved my FIRST positive pregnancy test. Miscarried 9 days later. Got my SECOND positive pregnancy test 7 months later, 5 days later miscarried. I can't see what else could be the problem, the only thing that i have done differently to my body is put the IUD into it. I can't help but scrutinize the IUD product for it is the only foreign object used in me... can't help but wonder!

I just found out on Sunday that I was pregnant. I went to the doctor and they confirmed that I was 4 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I had the mirena IUD removed on December 3, 2009 after having it in for 1 1/2 years and having MANY problems. While the pregnancy wasn't planned, I am scared that the mirena will cause me to miscarry like the young lady who posted above me. I have read other sites in which women have stated that they miscarried after 8 or 9 weeks. I swear this Mirena has caused me too much grief and I just don't think I could handle losing my baby. Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit for the Mirena? While I know there are women who have not had any issues with the IUD, I have done lots of research and it seems that there are many more who have had problems.

I have had 2 mirenas. The first one i had put in shortly after or Daughter was born. I had no problems while having both of the mirenas in. I was so worried about being able to get pregnant after having the 2nd one removed because of all the horror stories i was reading on blogs etc. I thought "Oh my what have i done?" I had my second one removed The middle of May and we waited until July to try and conceive like my doctor recommened and by September i got pregnant. I am currently 19 weeks along!!! So after having 2 of them in it only took me 2 months to get pregnant. There is hope out there for all of you who are still trying. Just relax and it will happen when the time is right!!!

I had my Mirena taken out a year and a half ago. I had been trying for about a year and finally got pregnant. I miscarried at 11.6 weeks. My periods have yet to be normal, in the whole Year and a half, and never have had a miscarriage before. I believe that it is because of the Mirena. What are my chances of getting pregnant again and carrying it to term? I am trying again after letting myself have one cycle with no sex. I am so upset that I am having so much trouble. I got pregnant so easy with my other two. I just want to conceive once more time before my clock becomes in question.

I have endometriosis. My first child was a "surprise" because I didn't think I could have children due to the endometriosis. It came back after my first pregnancy and somehow I still conceived my son the first month we started trying (three years after my daughter's birth). After my son I got Mirena. I had it taken out in December of 2009 and we are still trying for baby #3.

I had my IUD inserted March of 2008 and had it removed January 9, 2009 due to sever cramping and havy bleeding and clotting! My husband and I finally came to a concensus and decided to try for baby #2! Baby # 1 was an accident and Im kinda concerned and stressed about trying for the second one. Now reading ALL of the horror stories bout this stupid Mirena makes me even more scared to get pregnant! Ive already had 2 misscarriages, one prior to my hubby and one while I was on the Mirena. I do not know if I could handle having another miscarriage. We have been trying since january to conceive and nothing yet. I was completely unaware that it took 3 months for the hormones to be out of your system. My doc only told me a month and we could start trying again. It wouldnt't harm the conceiving of another baby. But from what I have heard IM scared to death now!

I am having a difficult time getting pregnant post Mirena removal. I had mine in for 2 years 9 months. Had it removed in Oct 30th 2009 because it punctured through my uterine wall and then travelled into the upper left quadrant of my abdomin. My cycles have been arriving approximately after 28 days for usually a full week of heavy bleeding. Pre-IUD, I would always have heavy bleeding. That was the nor for me. But I was also EXTREMELY fertile. I am worried that the titanium staples that are now permanetly residing in me or any of the other IUD side effects have enabled me to get pregnant.

I think everyone sounds worried and tense for some reason. We shouldn't stress AT ALL remember Mirena is just like saying you'd temporarily like your tubes tied so give your poor hormonally disrupted body a chance to recover before you question anyone's fertility.
I'm 22, my hubby is 32 and I've had my IUD for 4 years, the only complications being no period after the first 2 months of IUD which my doctor and my personal pre-mirena insertion research warned me about plus my husbands sometimes painfully feeling the insertion threads during intercourse. We are going to try for a baby starting in one week, this is our first baby try but we are a) very very exited and happy because finally we're ready to try and b) going to give it one year of our normal 7 or more times a week before we even question either of our fertility. ( Yes, we are very active)
In my opinion before anyone got dazzled by ovulation counters or other stuff like that we simply procreated and had children and with a normal sex life many people seem to have no problem reproducing and this "old fashioned" method where we simply try until it happens is our shot. After I have at least several pregnancy signs I'll take tests but our fingers are crossed lol. :-D

I used a Mirena IUD for a full 5 years. It stopped my cycles completely, which I liked. I had another Mirena IUD placed but only kept it for roughly one year before having it removed. After it's removal I got pregnant within 2 months, but miscarried soon thereafter, at 9 weeks. A few months later, pregnant again and then miscarriage again, even earlier, at 4 1/2 weeks. The professionals say the IUD is not to blame but I have yet to hear from a woman who has used an IUD for 6 years, then had a miscarriage/s and then, finally, a healthy pregnancy. I am reading a lot of questions like mine, from women who had an IUD then got pregnant and had a miscarriage who are wondering if the two are related. The pros say no, that the hormones from an IUD shouldn't affect you past 30 days after removal but the sequence of events seem to be fairly common; IUD removal, pregnancy, then miscarriage. I have been looking for answers for 4 months but haven't found any definite ones, only had one more miscarriage to add to my story.
I would say that for women who are in their 30's that have had an IUD for over 5 years, there may indeed be some reason to worry that you're going to miscarry. I think doctors should give out better information on this and progesterone issues, perhaps suggest a wait period. Having a miscarriage is a devastating, life changing event. It will change your outlook on pregnancy forever, transforming it from a happy sort of bliss to a worried travesty. Having multiple miscarriages will make you shake your head and go "hmmmmm.." no matter how much people tell you that the hormone changing device you employed the use of for several years had nothing to do with it. Successful pregnancies are due to balanced hormones, estrogen and progesterone, after all, right?

Here it is 1 year later since I had the Mirena remove on 4/7/2010 and still not pregnant. I will be 34 in May 2010. I had never had a problem with getting pregnant ever in my life. The only thing I can come it with is the Mirena. I had try alot of birth control myth; the depot shot, birth control pill, and some birth control that goes in my arm and had that one in for two years. I never has a problem with none of those myth on birth control. Now that I have tried the Mirena I had not issue when it was in now that I want to have my 3rd child I am having issues. At times I still have the pregnancy symptoms but no baby. It has become so frustrating for me and my husband. My doctor keep telling that it will happen just be patient. Can anyone tell me something different?????
