Hi all, I just wanted to say I’m having the same problem!!
Have been on Yasmin for nearly 13 years and am finding it IMPOSSIBLE to get off of!
From day 2 of stopping the pill I have horrendous headaches with blurred vision and nausea. They interior my life hugely and mean o spend days lying in the dark.
I have tried to speak to a doctor about this and am just told if I want to quit the pill I will have to put up with feeling like this for a short time (how short is short though!?!)
It’s not fair to leave women suffering like this!

I’m so glad I found this thread… I have been dealing with the exact same symptoms as everyone on here. Most recently I was on the Beyaz pill until October 2021 then my doctor switched me to Depo. I had a truly awful experience on the one shot and decided not to get another one. I’ve been off birth control since mid January 2022. It’s been almost 5 months now and I am really struggling with these headaches. I had a severe migraine with aura that lasted over 10 days about 6 weeks ago. I had to visit the ER twice because the pain was so severe and I could not drive or work. I had a CT scan, MRI, labs, saw a neurologist and ophthalmologist but everything came back fine. Since then I haven’t had a migraine like that again but literally every single day, once I get up and get moving around I start to feel pressure in the back of my head. Sometimes it is on one side and then it moves to the top of my head. It truly feels like my brain is expanding. It makes it hard to concentrate and do my work throughout the day. The only thing that helps is laying down and resting. I am truly at a loss for what to do. I’ve been taking all the supplements mentioned for going off birth control and drinking lots of water but nothing is helping. The neurologist did give me a prescription for Topamax but I am trying to hold off on taking it, hoping this will resolve soon on its own. I cannot believe birth control can mess you up this bad and it takes so long to recover from it. I am praying by 6 months off of it next month, maybe I will get some relief. Thank you everyone for sharing your stories.
The only thing that helped mr frequent headaches was nortriptyline 10mg.

Hi, everyone. To throw down my 2 cents - headaches after stopping birth control pills may be caused by fluctuating hormone levels. To help stop the headaches, make sure you drink plenty of water, get enough rest, and manage your stress levels. You may also want to talk to your doctor about taking an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to help manage the pain. Additionally, many women find that supplementing with B vitamins can help reduce headaches associated with stopping birth control pills.
Herbal supplements such as ginger, feverfew, and butterbur may help reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.
Hope this helps!
