I am almost 19 and i have been dealing with these headaches dizziness and insomnia for about 3 years, but it has gotten really bad the past year. I get tons of sinus infections (bad genes from a whole family of people with sinus infections :S) and they used to go away after a few weeks. then the antibiotics just kinda stopped working and so i basically have one long sinus infection that has lasted about 3 months now. my sinus infections usually make my whole head hurt, but mostly up by the face and temples. all the other symptoms too. i believe i have chronic sinusitis and i am just at the end of my limit of just ignoring the pain. i am willing to have surgery to make this pain stop. also, about a year ago, i was having some really bad tension headaches in the back of my neck and head. i found out it was due to bad posture...so i went to a physical therapist. as weird as it sounds, it totally helped. after about 2 sessions my headaches were almost gone and i felt happy enough to just giggle about how good i felt. my guy did this thing where he pulled on my head and it just released all the tension in my neck and it really was like all the stress and pain got sucked out of me. so for everyone out there, i dont know if there is some kind of undiagnosed disease that makes everyone miserable and drs look like idiots, but i am sick of it and am ready to try anything. hope this helps and if anyone has tips let me know - im desperate.

I've been having the same thing, since November last year, when my school holidays started. It's the same, with the dizzy spells and the headaches except for the cold thing. I get the nausea when I'm hungry, and it's been going on for a week now. I'm only eleven.... I don't know what it could be. I've tried sleeping a lot but I always manage to wake up early and have the headache start, I've taken a lot of panadol, the children's one, and it doesn't help. It doesn't hurt more when I look at a screen or listen to music. My dad, who's a physician, says it might be psychosis. My grandmother says it's because I don't drink enough water or something and I drink more than a litre per day. My mom just scolded me for complaining so much about it. Also, they're thinking of making me go for an MRI scan. I hope it'll be over soon. I can't take it much longer. It hurts on both sides now, previously it only hurt on the left. It gets to a level of unbearable pain to a constant throbbing which simply irritates me. I'm weaker than usual and don't go outside of play sports as often anymore. I doubt it's my glasses because when I take them off it doesn't help. I hope someone can tell me what's happening. I don't want it to trouble me any further. I already have to deal with the obsessive side of OCD.
Help? Anyone? Please?

I was diagnosed with Empty Sella Syndrome several years ago, which deals with the putitary gland. Most of the time it does not bring symptoms with it. My doctor at that time was trying to find out why I was having headaches. Starting last year I began to have this pressure in my head around my left ear, in the the back of my neck sometimes going up to the top. I figure it had something to do with my high blood pressure. I also can have partial taste and partial smell, and my vision is blurry. After seeing my interal medicine doctor, an allergist, and neurosurgeon, and it still could be figured out. I went to my old condition that I thought was not giving me a problem, and I did research. What I found was that most people who have Empty Sella Syndrome also intracranial pressure, and it is called idiopathic intracranical pressure. I immediately went to see my neurosurgeon and explained this to him (which was something he should have brought to me). He ordered a CT scan to see if there was any leakage behind the eyes, because i was having pain behind eyes and nose. He seen nothing. So I looked at him and said Does that mean I do not have it, he saids the only sure way to know is to see a neuro-ophthalmolist and receive a lumbar puncture. Well i did both and my CSF fluid was up to 28.8, a normal one would be between 12-20.
CSf fluid is the fluid in your brain. My ophth put me on Diamox which is also use for elevation sickness and people who have mild tremors, I instantly felt a change after two days. The side effects are awful metallic taste when you drink beverages, tingling in fingers and toes and I had an allergic reaction to it, i developed rashes all over that inched so bad at night. She is now going to change my prescription to something else, I am on my way to get it. I hope this helps you. One thing about intercranical pressure with people who have empty Sella we are mostly overweight just losing 5 pds will bring the pressure down. I am not saying you have empty sella, you can have intracranical pressure without having empty sella, because the idiopathic means unexplained.

It is interesting to read so many posts as I believe it is only a fraction of those actually suffering out there. I have had headaches 24/7 since August 2007. Started with over the counter and different remedies but none of that worked. After several months it was debiltating enough to affect my working so off to the doctor. Then off to the neurologist. We tried many different medicines over the years till finding something that helped but never broke the cycle. CT's MRI's same results as you all negative. I currently am treated with Lyrica twice daily, Nortriptyline at night, Madnesium Oxide daily, Botox shots every three months, and a Migranal Spray for when they start turning into a migraine to try to head them off or at least lessen the affects. I am diagnossed with a combination of migraine and compound headaches. It seems that all we can do is medicate to reduce the pain to be able to function and slowly get used to it and raise the tolerance for pain. Best wishes to all of you for a cure someday.
