I am a 71 year old women and I have always had a hot tummy. My sister remembers me as a small child taking a cold water bottle to put on my tummy at bedtime. I still have it and still always take a cold/ice pad to bed with me ... just in case I need it. I was taljking to my sister on the phone about it the other day and decided to look it up. after reading all the comments I've come to the conclusion that my diet might make a difference and I will try the chinese seeds at night. I do get dehydrated, but then most people my age have dry mouth. I also drink some ice cold water before bed. This is a very interesting topic that I thought belonged to me and me only ... seems I'm in lots of company! Thanks for sharing

I have been experiencing warm sensation on the right side of my chest. I first thought it was my breast but it is just the area underneath. I get so hot that is uncomfortable to touch my skin and I have to hold my arm up. It get disoriented and at times I have trouble making sense of things. It is getting worst and I am not able to determine what is going on

I have had this for years and been tested by several doctors. For me they say it is an autonomic problem and the heat comes when I change positions or there is digestion causing blood pooling in my stomach. It's basically vasodiolation that happens. I also have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Vasovagal syncope. The heat usually starts in my stomach and if I don't put something cool on it, it will seem to expand upwards like a flushing feeling. My heartrate usually goes up and I feel like I have a fever. My blood pressure will ultimiately drop too low. Also look up Mast Cell Activation Disorder which can also cause this. You may also have blood pooling in your legs. The only thing that helps me is keeping a frozen water bottle handy, putting it in a papertowel, and putting it on different places on my stomach. Dehydration does make it all worse so be sure to drink lots of water, but not ice water because that and hot drinks can make it worse. Try just room temperature. It's a horrible feeling and some medications can make it worse. Carcioid tumors (as someone mentioned) can also cause "dry hot flashes", but they are rare--worth asking about though. Hope this helps.
