High blood pressure is also called the silent killer because you can have it for years without knowing it but it impairs our health greatly. Scientists managed to find another factor that can increase blood pressure-noise.

Although pleasant sounds can stimulate joy, disturbing sounds at work places can raise levels of blood pressure that stays elevated even after leaving work.
Different types of noise were analyzed in the factory settings and it was determined that exposure to noise led to increased blood pressure and that heart beat was affected the most by instantaneous peak noises. However, wearing ear protection was found to greatly reduce blood pressure.

This risk factor should be taken seriously in order to save employees’ health and hence productivity as high blood pressure has been linked to many chronic diseases.
