Hear me out here...

Every year. The same thing happens to me. It's starting right now for me. So miserable, I keep clearing my throat all day. Last year in my research I came across a video on YouTube about chronic cough and how sometimes it is connected to H.Pylori. I have no idea if this just gets aggravated every Fall and Winter.

In the video, the guy recommended to take Broccoli Sprout Extract because the ingredients kill the H.Pylori. I did this last year and for the first time I got relief. I was hoping it didn't come back but it feels like it is going to and now I am going to purchase more.

If you try this and it helps you let me know!

My husband gets this problem every fall and it lasts through the winter. One doctor said maybe fall allergies and would get better after a hard freeze. That never helps. He had whooping cough bad as a child as wonders if there is a connection. It's an awful cough and is never ending!

We really don't need an entire thread of people saying "me too". Hold off unless you have an answer.

I have had this cough every fall until after winter for the last 7 years or so. Drives me crazy. Coughing and hacking, vomiting from coughing, constantly blowing my nose, my Doctor ordered some tests that came back normal, couldn't find the problem. I can't talk on the phone due to the coughing. If I stay completely still while trying to sleep, the cough erases up, the second I move, even just to turn my head, the cough starts up again.

Has anyone ever had any answers to this issue? I get the same issue every single year to the point complaints are made at work! It affects my home, work and personal life as I am drained of all energy 24/7 and unable to take any time off work.

I've had chest x-rays, blood test, peak-flow chart readings etc...still all clear and in perfect health apparently-except for the fact I am coughing so much I'm gagging, having giddy spells, losing my voice and annoying the entire company!!

Please someone have an answer!

Well, I will add my name to the growing list of those who have fought this for years, always in the spring, and no matter how many pills, inhalers, or steroids they give me, the cough lingers. I talked my PCP into letting me try a prescription brand of Prilosec. There is someone I know who had this same problem, and it turns out they had stomach acid, a condition they call "silent reflux", or laryngopharyngeal reflux. I am going to try and see if this solves my condition.

I am with you mine started about 45 years ago. Very miserable, I have been unable to stop coughing to the point of vomiting, unable to breathe and nearly passing out. This thing mimics whooping cough. At one time I had a doctor who was willing to give me pertussis vaccine, in week it was gone. Also when I got my booster for tetanus, which also has pertussis in it, That year I did not have the cough. Doctors today will not give you pertussis. I am like many of you, I have done the same regiment of allergy medicine, antibiotics, cough medicines and inhalers, so far nothing is working.
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!!

I have same problem from Oct to April. Given all sort of meds , z packs, and nasal sprays. I went to ENT and said I had allergies, family doctor says asthma, pulmarnary Doctor says I don't have asthma but acid reflux. So I'm deciding to just trust God to heal me. I am 71 yrs old and have no other sickness or medication.

I agree with the person previously that said to not post to this tread if unless you have something different to discuss. I like all of you have the same symptoms. I am not a smoker and in good health. I have had lungs and everything else checked. I get the cough just everyone else (fall to spring). I get some relieve with over the counter products, inhaler etc but only enough to help sleep or get through a meeting etc.

I have been trying to think of something that only happens in the fall that might be the cause. The only thing that I can think of is the additive in gasoline. In Montana, in the fall it is required that a certain percentage of methanol added for air quality. I am curious if anyone else might live in a state or place that also had methanol additives.

The other thing that happens this time of year it the reduction in day light. But I bought the lights and they dont seem to help.

Searching for anything that makes sense.

I just posted a bit ago and thought of several other things that I wanted to bring up.

Is it possible this is a form of "Allergic to Cold" just not showing on the skin just in the lungs?

I did chew tobacco for 17 years when I was young. That may have had some sort of affect on my stomach. It has been 20 + years however since I quit and I did not have this problem until about 6 years ago so that one doesnt make any sense either. But if there are others on this thread that chewed tobacco I would be interested to know that as well.

Everyone that has this problem should say something even if does not have a solution, obviously none of us due. I lost my job cause of this and have problems getting work back because of the lay off and my coarse sick sounding voice September through April. I think everyone should start saying where they live on here to see if has to do with weather and climate. I am at the point I am willing to move south to warmer weather. I love on Chicago it seems to happen when it starts getting cold and ends at the beginning of spring. We have a couple days in this January that we’re over 50, my cough was gone I was fine, the next night back down below freezing, started coughing and wheezing right away. I can go outside in the cold and breath fine and the coughing does not get worse just stays the same. I also have stayed in one room for months without temp change and still have cough.
The more we talk about this and mark down where we live, climate, allergies, asthmatic, and whatever other conditions we all may have the better chance we haven’t combat this sickness.
Chicago
September thru April
Contsant coughing of phlegm
Asthma ( is worse with coughing)
Doctors give zpak prednisone ventolin ( prescribed symbicort but can’t afford)
None of the drugs help
Take Benadryl not for relief but to sleep, can’t stop coughing if I don’t.
Allergies animals dogs, mold dust that I know of

Same here. Cough from beginning of fall till spring, all my life. Only skipping a year here and there. Ive had doctors tell me its acid reflux, it wasnt. (Took the medication, didnt help) They've said it is medications, not true. (I had it before i ever took any medications) Ive taken allergy medications, antibiotics, you name it. No relief. No cough medicine controls it. If i lay completely still, it does slow down.
Ive researched for years and the only thing that does make sense to me is post nasal drip from some sort of seasonal allergy. But no luck on finding any medication to relieve it.
It is a strain on jobs and personal life.
Ive lived in Southwest va and East Tennessee. Never smoked. No asthma. I do have pets but i had the cough for years before i ever got a pet. It isnt my heating system because the cough has followed me thru multiple dwellings.
