Hi. I was relieved to find this post! I am 64 and this started for me 3 years ago...November-March. I have always had bad sinuses but I don't have allergies. I get 1-2 sinus infections a year. My symptoms are 1) always having to clear my throat and coughing. I don't feel sick but I don't feel 100%. After the first month I just get used to it. It goes away in the spring.
I finally went to an ENT last January (before COVID) and he told me I have a severely deviated septum. He suspected that I had chronic sinusitus with post-nasal drip...maybe tied to the sinus infections. I don't remember exactly what he gave me but it was a course of antibiotics and a steroid...strong stuff. He put me on a 2 week course and I ended up repeating it twice and felt better at the beginning of February. He felt that operating on my deviated septum would address it. That was the plan and then COVID hit and I was unable to get the surgery. It started up again in November. I am going back to the ENT tomorrow to restart the process. I am hopeful this will work.

At least I can get a few hours of reflief a day from the decongestion medicine.
I've tried steam showers and nasal cleansing thinking it might help, but no. Once it gets into my chest it no longer matters if my nose is running or not.
