Hi there, I have read SEVERAL posts to where people are or want to cut the pill in HALF or QUARTER! NOOOOO!!!! IT can kill you! Especially with the time release Morphine. It is all in the pill a certain way and if that way is messed with by cutting it it can backfire and kill you! I'm currently weining myself off of Morphine after asking my doctor to cut me down. When he said NO then I decided that he isn't looking out for my best interest. I know that they don't have the answers for pain, but I'm also killing myself with these drugs and want them out of my system. I'm down to my last pill. I will try the next 3 nights with only 1 pill then try it without. I just came off of 6 pills per day in addition to the other 30 pills(different meds) that I have to take. So basically, I've gone from 36 pills per day down to one! I CAN DO THIS!!!! YOU CAN TOO!!!

Its been over a year now and I was wondering how you are doing. It had to be a rough ride, my friend. These opiates are just hell, aren't they? I have been unable to kick em and been on methadone for 31 yrs now. I'm fine and everything but I'm still an addict, albeit a legal one, which does make a difference. I don't have the answer for this affliction. Do you? Take care and if you can, please update us, ok? Rodney

So your doctor refused to reduce your dosage when you asked him to?? Something doesn't sound right. What's the deal, my friend?

My doctor told me that by not weining your self down and going off the morphine or any other opiat you could have a heart attack or stroke. She told me this after i ran out for 5 days and her front desk took their sweat time getting me in to see her. She was mad and had a few words with them that I was soo happy to get to over hear. so please don't go cold turkey.

Pax , have you considered doing a 21 or 28day detox using methadone? With your morphine usage, for that long, you need a controlled taper and methadone can help. You don't want to become addicted to methadone so limit it to 28-30 days max. The heart attack symptoms are genuine because I've been thru that myself. Your blood pressure skyrockets when withdrawing from opiates, you become very schitzy , nervous, anxious, etc. and tends to get worse the more you worry about it. You can get Lisinipril for blood pressure from any minor emergency clinic and a beta-blocker like metaprolol helps slow your racing heart and slow the release of adrenaline into your system. That affects the 'can't sit still' syndrome and that feeling that your coming out of your skin sensation. You will need to go to a methadone clinic, but its cheap and it works. You don't have to suffer like you are now, my friend.

Kratom may help you find your way off the morphine. It is natural, mild, and we have many many customers that are having success with it to get off the painkillers. Spec B seems to be the go to, and then exploring other strains from there.

I have been on 4 mg. of Xanax off and on since I was 22 about 20 years. I have tried to get off permanently but it never works and I have terrible panic attacks where I have not gone outside for 6 months. Finally, I found the doctor who is a MD and DO who doesn't use this drug but considering the quality of my life decided to put me on them indefinitely as the withdrawals are very uncomfortable and dangerous if done without a doctor. He has been my doctor for 14 years and I have not had one panic attack. He says with me the trick is to prevent the attacks. I have been through all kinds of pills, psychotherapy and seen psychiatrists. None of them helped me. Thank you God for my doctor and his understanding that some people have to take meds for the quality of life.

Kathy, I agree. As far as quality of life is concerned, taking something everyday is often the lesser of the evils. I have some customers that have even replaced their anti-anxiety drugs with Kratom. Often these customers have anxiety to the point that it is debilitating. As far as they are concerned, Kratom leaf powder takes care of their symptoms and let's them focus on enjoying social interaction or just the job at hand, rather than fearing the interaction itself.

It should also be noted for the people that aren't familiar here, that Kratom is simply the ground up leaves of a shrubby tree in South-east Asia - it is eaten with food and can replace a number of pharmaceutical solutions. Most people start with Spec B, a very balanced blend and then explore Sumatran Superior and Red Dawn to find the regional strain that works best for them.
