Hi, a friend of mine has been working out for almost a year now. I must say that the results are great. When you compare the way he looked a year ago with his present look, you see two different men. Anyway, he says that he will continue body building for his entire life. Is this possible? How long can you practice body building?

Hi, it is not so surprising that your friend's results in bodybuilding are so great. This is a normal thing especially if you are dedicated to this sport activity like, apparently, your friend is. As for the time you can practice bodybuilding, there are no rules. Any kind of sport activity tunes up the body. Of course, if you are not using any illegal substances. Therefore, bodybuilding can be practiced whole life if the health state allows us to do so. I know men that are over sixty and are still going to the gym. Naturally, the intensity of the training is lowered. But, on the other hand how many sixty years old men do you know that are bodybuilding?

I started lifting weights when I was 19 years old. Today, I am 40 and I still lift weight weekly. I also now do two to three hours of cardio exercise on a elliptical machine each week as well.
I recently took a test to determine my real age based on health and lifestyle activities. I scored a 28, which is the age my body is operating at. I don't know how accurate the test is but I know that I am tremendously healthier than all of my friends my age.
