You may have been poisoned. There are many common poisons that a doctor typically won't tell you about. Lymph node swelling in the neck is a typical effect of some poisons. Another way to tell is with tests for liver health, but your doctor still won't say what's causing the problem, especially if it isn't very serious. Do you trust you're food supply, roommate, etc.? If it's poison, the lymph nodes will go back to normal within a year or two after you stop being poisoned, or sooner.

Hi there,
Why did you get the penicillin shot? Were you suffering from some kind of disease or you had an infection of some sort? Lymph nodes get swollen when you have an infection in your body. They are like alarm system in our body. They also help fight the infection and try to restore the balance in your body. So as soon as the infection is gone the lymph nodes will go back to normal. Sometimes it takes a day for this to happen and sometimes you will need a couple of days to get your lymph nodes back to normal. You can try to massage them gently, but don’t apply too much pressure because this can irritate them more.
