I am suffering from strong constipation for a long time. They usually end with taking all sorts of laxatives, but it helps only temporarily, I have to repeat the process some time later. It looks like that result of all this are anal fissures and hemorrhoids. And I have to go to surgery for those fissures in couple of days. How painful is that surgery?

Most common reason for anal fissure occurring are irregular and hard stool, because they pass through the anal channel with some difficulties (anal sphincter area could be damaged also). Fissures are like small cracks in the tissue and have to be operated because they often bleed, which is an excellent soil for infection. Since you will be under anesthesia, it should not be painful.
