Well, try Kratom, it binds the natural mu receptors in your brain. all natural, it can take almost ALL of wd symptoms away, and give you much needed energy. I have been taking 90 mg oxy a day for five years due to a f&$@$ back and 3 botched surgeries. Don't give up! Hope this helps you! Joshua

I am worried about my husband. It's my husband that is taken oxycontin for his back. He tells me he is addicted and wants to come off of them. I just lost my niece at age 33 from being addicted to this same matter. I don't want to loose my husband. I read a lot of the comments you guys have left on this site and it only scares me more. He says he wants to do it on his own and that scares me more. He says he is taking his last oxy sunday morning and will be taken methadone just long enough to get through the with drawals of stop taking the oxy. He said in order to get addicted to methadone you have to be on it for about 21 days. He got enough for twelve days. My daughters high school friend died from taking methadone requardless he popped 8 pills, but my husband friend gave him a pill and he face planted it and blacked out for a second. He will not listen to me about anything. I fear for my husband and don't know what to do. Unfortunately I can't talk to the family doctor because of confidentiality and he won't seek treatment because he don't want to loose his job. Anyone got any feed back for me. I am a scared to death wife and don't know what to do.

I have been on Oxycodone 10/325 x 5 daily for years now. Sometimes I am fine without it but if I do any projects (ie: painting the deck) I have to load up and exceed my daily allowance. I get extra energy and determination to get a job done but I routinely go cold turkey for a week or two for each three to four week work period. I have been able to do this easily in the past but we recently had a horrible storm knock out power and all sorts of problems, I am trying to stick with my plan, but I do not know if it is the added stress that is causing the mood swings, depression, and anxiety attacks this time. We just got power back and I have been sleeping off and on all day, staying up all night with this attempt. I do not know how long to expect this to last? I am a week into my plan and usually by now I am all good. I have the rest of a painting project to finish around the house and I do not know if I should just go back on the medication or what?

Dear Dzenor' I have been taking oxycodone 15 mgs 6 times a day for about 6 years. I have back problems neck problems prolapsed bladder and rectum surgeries x 6 so far, I also have tumors on the bottom of both feet plus a few other surgeries. Here in Florida the DEA has been comming down hard on the Doctors and pharmacy's. For about the last 4 months I have had to search all the pharmacies in town to find someone who would fill my meds because everyone tells you they don't have them, Or they look at you like you are s**m of the earth lower than low because you are on pain meds. I got so depressed about that that I couldn't take it anymore. As of today this is day 6 for me oxycodone free. I won't tell you that it hasn't been hard because it has. I will tell you that for me I'd just had enough, enough of the ridicule... the power that the meds the Drs and the pharmacies had over my life and I decided to say no more. I am feeling better every day and the pain isn't as bad as I'd thought it would be. I take a 600 mg motrin and just forget it. I think I had more pain while I was on the meds. I hope that everything works out for you guys. If I can do it anyone can.....God Bless.....Debee drug free and loving it!!!

Hi Izzie, Not sure if you were talking to me or someone else. I am now on day 10 oxy free and I have actually gotten out of the house to work. I even managed to go to the pool yesterday twice. I am feeling stronger and more like myself every day. I know that going cold turkey probably wasn't the smartest thing to do but I felt like I had no choice. I quit smoking about a year and a half ago but have been doing the electronic since quitting. As of 4 days ago I even quit that I just lost all desire....Weird I feel like a different person. Anyways good luck to all of you who are trying to quit I have faith in you that you can do it.....God Bless........Debee DFALI,,,Drug Free And Loving It !!!

Thanks to all of you who brought this topic to light and all the helpful information. I have been on oxycodone for over two years now. For the past almost year i have been on 30mg four to five times a day. I have felt the w/d here and there because i ran short when not having funds to pay for scripts. I have lost too good paying jobs this past year and half so my doctor just maintains my chronic all over body pain with what I described above. I have a lot of symtomes of fibromyalgia, and other things like nutritional problems, all symtoms are like so many health deseas it hard to say, could be Type 2 Diabetes or just pinched nerve some where and my lack of sleep, depression and anxiety is making me feel worse all over. Oh yeah I was not educated on this type of drug (other than its pain med, and can be addictive) but I had no idea of w/d or other concept of side effets. Sorry I know this is very bad grammer and sentance structure. Right now I feel terrible and Have swelling in ankel and foot. They are restless and tight feeling, I am tiered but can't sleep (sucks), dizzy and off balance all the time. shortness of breath is real scarey, because they said i have empazima (spelling??). Well I have soo many other syptoms but my eyes keep closing so I have to stop. Thanks again for letting me share and get it off my mind. Take care!

My husband has been taken oxycontin and many other drugs for a few years now. I understand what you are going threw. I too feared for my husband. He was a completely different person then who I married. I just found out last week just how bad his addiction really is. He has spent thousands of dollars on this c**p and we have nothing left. Last week he finally told me about how big of a problem he had and that he wanted to get off them. He is now on day 7 of withdrawals and getting better every day clean. I am doing everything I can to support him in this journey of geeting clean. Bottom line is, he needs to want to get off them, really needs to hit rock bottom.
