Just for clarifications: I am 16 years old, 130 pounds and I have problems regarding extreme soreness during a race, such as a mile run, two mile, or 5k.
Issue: extreme soreness in my calves, glutes, quads which prevents me from going faster in a race. It hurts even more after the race, but I can still feel the hard burn during a race.
I don't think it has anything to do with the quality of my shoe. When I switch shoes, I still feel the soreness. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? The soreness is preventing me from improving my times in a race. Everyone else is improving big time in my team, while I'm stuck at a specific time, unable to improve because my legs give in during a race. It feels like a lactic acid buildup in my whole leg, but the races I'm doing is supposed to involve mainly cardio, so I'm not getting why my leg cripples every race. I've tried stretching, but that didn't help. Help please. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
