Wow! I was taking two to three 7.5/325 percs a day. I stopped them yesterday and UGH! Even on that low of a dose, still a nightmare! But I'm sure not as bad as others who have taken hella more. I've been on opiates for just over a year now.

On low doses. I pray there isn't too much damage and I can stay off of them, even with my chronic pain illnesses.

Good luck to you all. Your posta have been so inspirational and helpful to me. Day one, doing okay actually.

Aleve, Immodium HCI, alprazolam (low dose for sleep), TONS of water, TONS. And zofran for nausea (This is a miracle drug, no lie!)

Just a couple more days and I hope to be out of the woods!

Good luck to everyone!

How much were you on? I decided to go back on it and talk to my doctor. I'm not sure I can live life free of pain meds, but I do know I can turn down the volume. I have autoimmune and severe stenosis. Even taking the edge off with lower amounts helps so much to function. I think it's the physical dependence that scares me and the lowest amount I can take, and not everyday, will help me much until I can get a surgery. Best of luck to you and if you are too miserable, please don't hesitate to visit your doctor and be honest about what is happening.

On day 7 of cold turkey withdrawal from Tramadol. I haven't even been on that high a dosage: 100-150mg a day for three months.

It's been hell so far. Shivering, vomiting and the pain; it's awful. I feel as though all the nerve endings under the skin of my chest and waist are raw. Can't even touch the skin, it's so sore. My legs are also in agony. Like others, I've found relief in hot baths, but so far ordinary painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen are not touching it.  Here's hoping it goes away soon. I just want to feel normal again.

Great advice. Idk about the get a cold thing, but to me it sounds like a more reasonable pain. One that you know there is an end to the pain

cigarettes help because the nicotine thins blood, like a small dose of opioids.

How do you take the Kratom? Like a tea or alone. I ordered the crushed leaf and was hoping I did right? Anxiously waiting for your response. Thank you!

Godbless, I've only ever used kratom in the form of capsules. It just seemed easier that way to me. However, I've read a lot about taking kratom in other forms. Most sites recommend mixing the crushed leaves in something like apple sauce, just because it tastes so bad. I've also read you can make a tea out of them. I don't see why you couldn't mix them in water or anything else but I haven't tried that myself. How did you take it and did it work for you?

Tramadol is another evil drug that's been pushed down our throats by medical professionals who said it wasn't addictive. We addicts know that is bull%^$# now. Whatever you do, don't give in, I've never had a problem with tramadol because I haven't taken it that much and never developed a dependency. From what I've read,it takes about two weeks after quitting cold turkey to start feeling normal again. You are halfway there,so hang on :)

This is a terrible place to be, but I'm glad I'm not alone here. Last year I stopped oxycodone cold turkey after taking 65mg a day for over a year. I was 16. Runny nose, watering eyes, leg and low back pain...but it was bearable after like 4 days. Now I'm back on this stuff, trying not to take too much but also needing relief. Withdrawal happening, the restless/painful legs is the WORST. Tramadol never helped me. I know the cycle you are all talking about...and the fear of running out, yet you still can't seem to slow yourself down...sometimes not sure if you're taking it for pain or to keep the withdrawal away. My suggestion is stay active, go out with friends, boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse (honestly sex helps my aches), do chores, walk, maybe visit an animal shelter and just snuggle the animals...whatever makes you happy. Hot baths. keep moving...because when you stop it all catches up with you. Maybe aforementioned remedies will help...cough syrup, etc...I'd like to try that and a Professional massage. Good luck to all of you and thank you for posting, big help for me. Anyone want to talk I'll be getting email notifications when anyone replies :) stay strong everyone!!!!
