I hope you've found help by now , I see that this was posted over a year ago. I too have this problem and have suffered with it for the past 30+ years. I go into a ophthalmologist and he will numb my eye and pick the deposits that aren't covered over out. I know that sounds tough but It feels WONDERFUL to get them out!!! When my allergies are bad the seem to grow bigger and really scratch holes in my eyes. Happily the Ophthalmologist I use will work me into that day and take them out. I hope you find help and relief.

I have these as well. I have removed many with a sharp pin. I hold it under a lighter to sterilize and go to work. Make sure not to hit the eye ball obviously, so I attack at angle. They are definitely annoying. The only downside is if you work on one eye lid for too long you will end up irritating it to the point that it turns and red and hurts. For days. Cheers!

The doctors just don’t understand how irritating it is to have calcium deposits in the eye and it’s very easy for them to tell us "Learn to live with it; there is no treatment for it".

I underwent surgery for the same 10 years back and that surgery HURTS TO THE CORE. The anesthesia did not work on me (No clue why—wrong dosage??). I was LITERALLY cut alive.

That time, the doctor told me that it would occur again and there is no cure.

Yes it did occur again within a year but I am learning to live with it instead of being cut alive again.

If anyone knows any permanent cure, then please help me.

I had two deposits removed by my opthomologist today.  He numbed the eye with drops and scraped them off.  Hurt for a few seconds, but nothing to the pain I've had for several weeks. Prescribed steroid drops for swelling.  So thankful

Just had the same problem. My eye dr. Removed it without any problem. She used a needle to pick them and scrape or swab them with a thing like cottonbuds. I was complaining to her that my eyes is really bothering me. It feels so scratchy, itchy and dry and I had it for so many years that I thought I have a tic because my eyes is blinking a lot, sometimes it blinks so much that it became so embarrassing and she found little rocks like crystals under the lid of my eye. She flip the upper eyelid up and she saw calcium deposits and she easily removed it on the spot. She gave me antibiotic drops to take 3x a day for 3 days for the trauma on the skin from scraping and it didn't hurt at all. She advice me to get my thyroid check out with a specialist because there might be something wrong with it that's causing calcium deposit to accumulate there. Hope this helps you. I know how it feels to live with it everyday. My dr. Is so good to me she said I won't let you go until I removed every little rocks here lol... She said that's the reason why my eyes feels so itchy and scratchy and it is so uncomfortable that my eyes will blink a lot because of this.

What kind of gel eye drops do you use? I've had Dr. removed my calcium deposits too, but I'd like to minimize the trips back to the Dr.

I want to minimize my trips to the Doc also. I was ready to go down the EDTA path. But, I was concerned that ETDA will purge too many other trace minerals, minerals that we need. The ETDA solution will probably remove the calcium deposits from our eyelids; but, it would be better if there's a safer remedy without any adverse side effects. I am delighted that the following regimen worked well for me:
For the last 3 weeks, my upper right eye lid has a calcium deposit. I can't see it, but it's annoying, feel like a tiny piece of sand or part of an eyelash. I've always been troubled by Calcium deposits, for as long as I can remembered. I've been to the ophthalmologist too many times (2 to 3 times per year), to get them removed. My ophthalmologist is excellent, but I rather take care of this problem at home. Most of all, it would be better if I can prevent the buildup in the first place.
The remedy which works for me: I use the Vit. D3 + Vit. K2 (Thorne liquid) as an eye cream, take Vit. D3 and Vit. K2 (both Mk4 and Mk7), as well as Magnesium.
Prior to the deciding on the above method, for 10 days, I applied Mag. Chloride solution onto that eyelid. Not sure if it did much, perhaps the Magnesium reduced the size of the Ca deposit a little and prevented it to get big and painful. But, it was still there after 10 days.

After applying the D3+K2 as eye cream, for 2 nights, consecutively (Nov. 17 & 18), the Ca deposit no longer bothered me !!! ;-) It was 80% gone. After the 3rd day (Nov. 19). It was approx. 90% gone ;-).

I also took some Vit. K2, Mk7, (a low-dose of 45 mcg), and approx. 5 mg of Mk4, as well as a 2500 iu of Vit. D3, daily . At night, I took Magnesium Citrate, 160 mg. All these supplements help the Calcium go to the proper places (i.e. the bones and not the soft tissues).

I am delighted that the above works! I plan to use the D3+K2 once a week or so, as a nutritious "eyecream" even when I don't have Calcium deposit. It will be a proactive thing to do. btw, the Mag. Chloride was drying.

Hope this idea helps you and others. Sincerely, Sylvia
