I'm only 23 and im hot all the time. I've had my thyroid checked which they have me on 300mcg which is the highest medication they have on the market for it. My doctor can't explain it. I sweat constantly. I sleep with tons of fans and the house is so cold my sons hands feel like ice at times... My father suffered from this and when he was placed on cumidine for a heart attack he has become cold because it thinned his blood. I just dont know what to do anymore... i cant stand to be hot any longer... someone have any suggestions?

honestly to everyone who keeps saying that none of your friends sweat, thats bull. everybody has their days where they sweat excessively, some people are just good at hiding it, you never know, every body in your classes could be sweating and feeling self conscious, but because you are trapped in your own reality and your own body, it feels like you are the only one when honestly everyone around you probably isnt even paying attention. i sweat a lot at random times and i just dont really care. if i stink and someone says something about it, i have more offensive comments i can throw back at them and put all the anxiety on them. just dont worry about it, use deodorant so you wont stink of course, and if you start sweating, who cares? you cant control it so why worry about it? im 18 years old and ive been with a few girls in my life who at times would start to sweat, and it never bothered me as long as i couldnt smell it, and even if i could smell it, it didnt make me think any less of them.
be thankful you dont have an out of control tumor or a third eye or something :-)

UGHH! i'm like, one of those girls in my school who are really friendly with people and give everyone hugs. i'm 14, and i guess i'm going through puberty. i'm going through the same exact thing as you. I don't sweat at all at home, but when i'm with friends, i just start sweating, then i wonder if it's ever gonna stop. and i have to wear sweaters and keep my arms down to hide my sweat. it sucks i hate it soo much. so, with this problem, i can't give anyone hugs. and it sucks too. [reely cute guy hugged me but i didn't hug back!]. i dunno what to do i'm so paranoid [i guess] with the whole thing.
someone help!

I am thirteen years old with the same problem, but I even sweat when it's very cold outside or when I'm doing absolutely nothing physical. I've had the problem for about 6 months now.
Some people say it's hyperhidrosis or puberty. I just really hope it stops soon. I always wear jackets to school to hide it, even if it's burning hot outside.
I'm too embarrassed to tell my parents. They'll simply tell me nothing's wrong, and wear deodorant (which I use).
It's so annoying. >:( I can't be active as much as I wish to.

Wow, everyone on here is pretty young with this problem. I am 19 however and it still has not gotten any better. If anything it is worse. When I wear t-shirts, even big ones, I have sweat beads dripping down my sides. It doesn't smell, just is really wet. It is embarrassing and the doctors around here have no idea what to tell me. Honestly hun, your best bet is to visit a dermatologist, they specialize in skin and so will be able to help you out the most. PS. I spent like 9 dollars on certain dry from the store (Doctor approved) over the counter antiperspirant. DOESN'T WORK.

I'm 21 and still have that problem. It sucks. I just carry deodorant, perfume, and little hankies to stuff in my armpits to soak up the sweat.

I've had this problem for years too, since puberty. I have a bittersweet relationship with fitted tees. It sucks when I can't wear a type of shirt, in a certain color because its always embarrassingly OBVIOUS. And the domino effect of being self conscious, its just a 24/7 issue I deal with every day. But like those who have mentioned before...I too have no odor when I perspire on my underarms. (Did I mention I only profusely sweat from my underarms?)
Regardless, Ive tried everything too...any chick deodorant will NEVER suffice. I even tried mitchum for men, and that eventually stopped working. Got a prescription too, didn't really work just burned a lot. Now I just use old spice guy deodorant, and switch back and forth with a different version. seems like after so long my under arms "adapt". Lol gotta keep em guessing!
Push comes to shove you could get your sweat glands surgically removed or altered so you dont sweat anymore. But who wants to pay for that?

I am 25 and have had this problem (only from my under arms) since I was about 14. It has got better as I got older but still happens if I am cold or stressed. The condition is Hyperhidrosis and apparently it is fairly common. I use drysol which burns but works OKish. I think I am going to see my gp about the problem though.

29 year old dude here. Excessive underarm sweating has been part of my life since I can't remember. I actually think it's gotten worse as I've got older. Tried all the deo's and antipers out there, switching brands monthly kind of helped, but didn't fix anything. I tend to sweat a lot when its cold, which is so strange. I'm sitting at the comp right now in my office, which is definitely chilly, sweating up a storm, but underarms only. I heard about the hyperhydrosis and thyroid, but someone mentioned caffeine could attribute to more sweating. Well, I drink plenty of coffee, soda and eat mucho sweets. Maybe it's time for a break on all of those to test. I also tend to be over anxious at times , but other times not, and still i sweat. Who knows..... good luck to you. But like another post said, everybody sweats, don't let it bring you down.
