I am pregnant but I am not quite sure who the father is of my unborn child.

it was calculated by a clear blue test.. no due date.. the 4th april man ive since learnt is ex convict and drug addict plus has severe eplispy where as my soulmate is hardworking, non drinker and I love him.. can implantation happen few hours after sex and mean conception? think had unprotected sex with soulmate on 1st april.. not sure on periods sorry

Not including your name, I'm finding it hard to keep track on the history of your posts (I'm answering more than one person on this topic!)
However, implantation cannot take place only a few hours after sex. That takes several days. You are considered fertile on Ovulation Day and the previous 5 days because sperm can live in a woman's body for 5-6 days. So sperm can be waiting in your fallopian tubes for ovulation. After fertilisation, the egg travels to the uterus, where it arrives about 6 days later. Implantation might then take place within the next few days.
The ex-convict drug addict could have infected you. I suggest you have a test for STIs. But why, if you love your soulmate so much, did you have sex with this guy?

Hi shepherd999 can you help me? It might sound crazy for me to worry. My last period was on March 18th or 19 my cycles range from 32 days to 36 days I had protected sex with a condom no breaks rips or bust to my knowledge and confirmed it with the guy he said condom was fine this happened on March 25th around 4am my period ended late in the day on March 24th. Later that night around 10pm on March 25th I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and days after that. My due date based on ultra sound is December 15th. It put me a little futher then I thought. My dating scan was on May 9th. Please help

The due date suggests conception around 24th/25th March, about the time you state your period ended. That would indicate a very short cycle of maybe just 3 weeks.

My period in February was February 12th. I never have short cycles. I'm confused. Ultrasound doesnt even match my lmp. What do you think?

Ultrasounds are usually quite accurate (if observed correctly), whereas a medic's initial early estimation is often based on LMP. That is the only known date and assumes a 28-day cycle.

With a 5-week (rather than 4-week) cycle, the estimation would probably be a week out. The stated 40-week pregnancy is really the time from LMP with a 28-day cycle. In fact, it is 38-weeks from conception (ovulation/fertilisation). So as your cycle is nearer 5 weeks, then the baby's due date would be 41 weeks from LMP.

However, even that does not account for your given dates. It could be that the scan was read wrongly (it has happened) and the due date should have been calculated as later than 15th Dec. Or it could be that you ovulated earlier on that occasion. That sometimes happens too.

You could try a home test that gives an estimated due date as well (like some Clearblue tests do) and see whether it gives a similar result to the scan reading (or not). If that gives a later date, you could see whether you can have the scan reassessed, or have another scan.

because alcohol, bad friend and timing.. my soulmate had left me for woman at his brothers funeral.. was tough time but we have weathered our storm!! had the midwife and on more research realised my lmp was 6th march....when is ovulation day usually? is it normal for pregnancy tests to be so fain 4-5 weeks??

6th March to 15th April = 30 days.

If your cycle is regularly 30 days, it would suggest your next period would have been due 5th May. That would have meant Ovulation Day (14 days earlier) could have been 21st April (therefore also = Conception Date). Fertile days would then have probably been 16-21 April. That would make you now 4 weeks & 2 days and suggests a due date 12th Jan (38 weeks).

However, calculations are often made from LMP, which adds another fortnight to the length of pregnancy. Clearblue normally indicates from conception: 1-2, 2-3, or 3+ weeks. That would equate to (with a 28-day cycle) 3-4, 4-5, or 5+ weeks from LMP.

1. What was the date your last period started? 21 Dec?
2. What date did you expect your next period to start?
3. How did you calculate that start-date?
4. How long is your cycle usually (typically 28 days)?
5. How was the "5 mnths pregnant" calculated? Scan?
6. How many weeks and days is that? 21 weeks 4 days?
7. What date is the baby due?
8. How was that date determined? Scan?

hi.. so sorry to post again but I'm really confused.. my lmp was 6th march but I then had 2 day bleeding 5th APRIL {morning after one night stand} which was brownish and I don't think was full period... when I done a test 9th MAY it was faint.... clear bluetest on the 11th and14th may said I was 2-3 weeks?? sorry to be a pest..

Correction! "6th March to 15th April = 30 days" should have read "6th March to 5th April = 30 days"

It's OK to ask again. In fact, I mistyped (now corrected) a date. I said "6th March to 15th April = 30 days", and meant to say "6th March to 5th April = 30 days".

1. With a period starting 6th March, to be fertile on 4th April would mean a cycle of at least 43 days, or a second ovulation occurring between 4th & 9th April in addition to one on 22nd March.
2. The Clearblue tests: 11th indicates fertilisation between 20-27 April; 14 May, between 23-30 April. That is consistent with having a period on 5th April and Ovulation Day (and fertilisation) on about 21st April. That would mean that 11th May could show 2 weeks 6 days; 14th May 3 weeks 2 days. Those are close to the 2-3 weeks shown by Clearblue.

Hi everyone. Im currently 18 weeks 1 day pregnant today & Im abit worried about who the father is to my unborn baby. I was with my ex partner on January 1st till January the 16th and I didn't sleep with him after 16th, then I got with my current parent on the 19th off January. Just to let u know I really can not remember my last period in January what so ever. But I found I was pregnant on 19th February with a clear blue test which said 2-3 weeks, so I was dead happy because counting back from 19th Feb 2-3 weeks means some time the end off January I got pregnant. And then went into my dating scan on the 18th April, and she said I was 13 weeks 1 day pregnant. And my due date is 23rd October, iv bin worried sick. Iv bin thinking and think about the situation, iv bin on conception calculators and they have all said I conceived end January / early Feb. But this wouldnt make me 18 weeks? I'm just so confused can anyone helpppp
