Hi. 15 year old male. I get 6 hours of sleep. I am always sad and never smile. Apparently im always looking blank and empty. I drink to much coffee for my age. The mere thought of my ex girlfriend stabs into my heart. I think i am depressed, bipolar, anxious. I dont know. Please somebody help me before i kill myself.

Hi Patrikk,
This sounds like you are depressed over losing your girlfriend. This happens to loads of people. Was she your first love? You feel just empty inside, can't sleep, don't want to do anything, just wish you could die. This emptiness will go away. Have you got a pal that you can talk to. Can you immerse yourself in something that will take your mind off of her. I know you don't feel like doing anything, but force yourself. Pick something that you used to like, that involves other people, go with a friend who comes and picks you up so you have to go, maybe joining a bowling league or skating or something you like. You will meet new people and even a new girlfriend. I know you perhaps don't want a new girlfriend because you hurt so much from the last one, but tell yourself she was not the one for you and she is not worth killing yourself over. There are plenty more girls out there and you will meet someone else. Do you have a doctor you can talk to, maybe they can help you with some anti-depressant pills. But please talk to someone, you are young and healthy and have a whole life ahead of you.

Hi Patrick,
I'm sorry for your loss, and it is a loss. You are grieving.
Like Rose said, talk to someone. A close friend perhaps. Guys can share their feelings too.
Exercise can help. When you work out, jog, or do any physical activity our bodies release chemicals into the bloodstream to help you feel good. Did you ever hear the term "runners high?" It's true. They'll run for a while, feel like absolute sh*t, then the chemicals hit them and they get a real rush.
It'll help in a couple of ways. It will give you something to do. People (girls) will see you exercising. You'll feel better about yourself and your body, and you'll feel good overall.
It beats seeing a doctor and taking pills. Go the natural way first.
Get out there and socialize too.

Great point from medic-Dan, running or excising will make you feel much better, it will release those natural endorphins, but it's not instant, so don't give up after just a few tries. And yes, try the natural way first. Antidepressants should be a last resort.
