@Marcella25 Thank you :)

Did you end your relationship?

I have spent quite a lot of time in public with the guy I adore and I didn't feel odd at all.  I did notice that loads of people look really glum but we were constantly laughing and smiling :)

No, I didn't, circumstances did, I never felt odd either, we looked great together, so happy.

I used to look in the mirror and wonder would I have to get someone to surgically remove my smile, I'm smiling as I write this.... Remembering.......

Lol, but for the record, I don't consider myself a cougar. He pursued me, I don't spoil him financially and it just feels like we're the same age, despite the lower maturity level that surfaces at times.

@ Steffie,For us, it was totally mutual, it was meant to happen, we never planned it, the very last thing either of us was expecting, most especially him. Coming from his culture, in comparison to mine, it was a shock actually.

I did spoil him a little, not too much, I introduced him to the Western side of life, even though he is very very well educated, he

was thrilled to learn of music and art outside of Bollywood. Sometimes, just sometimes he could be a bit immature, I tried my best to guide him.

We had a blast, a complete BLAST, memories are all very well and good, but, God, I miss him, waiting for him to come home in the evenings, the weekends, the fun, the laughs, singing, dancing, making love.........life can be cruel.....people with people that they don't love, and people going through the days on auto pilot!!!

So it was something other than the age gap that ended your relationship?

I get called a cougar but I've not chased anyone young, they come after me. Everyone I have been out with has never felt young to me. I've always felt like we're just 2 people getting along and having a nice time. And they spoil me :)

My ex was abusive and it was all blamed on his depression. He was often the most childish id**t I have ever known so perhaps I don't notice any signs of immaturity in the men I've seen because they all seem grown up compared to what I am used to?

Every man has the ability to act very un-grown-up so I'm not sure age is always an important measure of maturity. There are 50 year olds who get totally pissed and look the fool and there are 23 year olds who don't even drink alcohol.

The guy I like has a proper job, own house & car etc. He doesn't drink or smoke. He is educated and very witty. He is caring when I have had an upset and very childish (in a nice way) when he is trying to make me laugh. My ex couldn't even get himself out of bed in the morning or hold down a job. This new guy feels more like a mature man to me than my ex who was 15 years older.

I am thinking now that age does not matter apart from the wanting to have children part. Which may be the problem I am facing :(

The question "So it was something other than the age gap that ended your relationship?" was @Marcella25 :-D

It was everything except the age gap, so very complicated. Age - no, never a question of that, well, we knew we had to part. So, we never let it be an issue.

I'm soooo sorry. Even though my guy has suggested we get married, I don't believe it will ever really happen. So like I've said a million times, I'm taking it one day at a time. I would be devasted if he left me. (Been together since October 2011.) Oh, yea, and I did spoil him for his 30th birthday. Set up a big suprise with party favors and cupcakes at a music festival we went to and he said it was the best bday of his entire life.

That sounds very sad and upsetting :( It is good for us to know it was not the age gap that was the issue though.

Has does sound serious. What makes you doubt it will happen? I am hoping you will say not the age gap ;)
I would melt if my chap even kissed me!

Ladies, ladies, I say to all of you, live in the moment. Enjoy your man, love, laugh, kiss, hold hands, sing, dance, joke, enjoy all the beauty of love. Keep going, keep wishing for the best, wear yourself out having a blast. Plenty of time to rest when you are 6 foot under!!! F...k age, we are alive and vibrant, go rock it!!!
