I for years have been having the urge to throw my neck back and I typically thought it was a tic but then I soon learned it was controllable but it was just hard not to do it felt uncountable but it was so anyways after doing this so called controllable tic I would have to do it another 9 times so it could be an even number.

I would also do actually tics and then I would do it a few more times to make it feel equal or just right. And say if I were to turn to my right side I would have turn my left as well and then it would start a compulsion.

Basically if you do know what it is please and thank you!

Hello. Based on what you've described, your symptoms sound like they could be consistent with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). OCD is a mental health disorder characterized by obsessions (unwanted, repetitive thoughts) and compulsions (repeated behaviors or actions in response to the obsessions). These compulsions are performed to try to stop the obsessive thoughts or to make them go away, even though they might not provide any realistic relief from the obsessions.

The need to do something a certain number of times, or until it "feels right," is a common compulsion in people with OCD. Similarly, the urge to balance out an action by doing the opposite is also something that some people with OCD experience.

However, tics are also associated with conditions like Tourette's syndrome or other tic disorders, and sometimes the distinction between tics and compulsions can be complicated.

It's essential to speak to a mental health professional to get an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. They can provide clarity on the nature of your symptoms and recommend therapeutic interventions, which might include cognitive-behavioral therapy, medication, or a combination of treatments.
