I have been forced to stop taking trazadone (I have been taking 150 mg a night for about 12 years). I cannot sleep. I sleep for about an hour or two, then wake up, and then it starts all over again. What can I do? Is there any OTC sleep aid to get me through this withdrawal time. I need to sleep! Help! :-(

I had trouble coming off this drug too. Have you been forced to stop taking it because the doctor has told you it is no longer being produced? I have seen that it is available under another name, but I would check this with your doctor. It is available at quite a hefty price online, but I'm not sure I would trust an online company - how would you know what is in it? My doctor switched me to Mirtazapine, a liquid anti-depressant, and I managed to come off that after two weeks with no side effects. I have now been given Venlafaxine, which is working well after just 4 days but I have had a lot of side effects. Ask your doctor for Mirtazapine, but be prepared to be very sleepy.
