I was surprised and thrilled to wake up from Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) a major surgery for appendix cancer to find I was reconnected after living with a illostomy bag for 10 months. I did not realize how difficult being reconnected would be. Has anyone found any sites that can help guide you through with what to eat and not what to eat etc. The first thing i could keep down after 12 days was a milk shake only to find myself 2 hours later in terrible pain with gas, diarrhea and "Burning Butt" I wish I had been warned. I see from this site i am not alone. You folks have given me great ideas but i was wondering if there were guidelines spelled out anywhere. I now realize I have to be very careful what I put into my mouth. But I need guidance. Any suggestions in getting back to "Normal as soon as possiple woul be greatly appreciated.
PS I am also dealing with a radiated bowel that also can cause BM diffguidelinesnowiculities.
This such a crule fate for someone who loves food the way I do. Please give me hope that soon I will be able to eat without so many restrictions.
Be well and be happy,
Jo
