I have a few questions and hope to get answers prior to receiving my kit.
I purchased my kit last week and have not received it yet. I'm gettting nervous.

Few questions.
1. I have hypo thyroid... does anyone else have this and did it slow down your weight loss?

2. I'm not sure what all can be eaten and what cannot. I have TONS of granola bars and slim fast shake mixes..... I don't know what fits into this plan so can you tell me if I will be able to eat this kind of thing thru the day? I really HATE to toss out all of this kind of thing if I don't have to but at the same time... I want to get rid of all the stuff that I can't eat so I don't get tempted to eat it.

Sorry to say I can't answer your question about hypo-thyroidsm, but I can answer some of your questions about the food.

Brace yourself, because it can be somewhat shocking - and then again, maybe not... just depends on what you're used to eating and how much energy you put into the preparation.

Stock up on the veggies (seems like the veggies are all that's free in this plan), and dump the SlimFast (and ask someone to hang onto the granola bars for you). Stock up on whole grain foods like oatmeal for breakfast, quinoa, brown rice, etc. Say good-bye to whole eggs (go buy a container of egg whites at the supermarket). No salt added to the diet. And fruits are allowed in limited amounts - there's sugar in fruit. No butter and no cooking oil.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking anything about this diet. I just wasn't prepared when my kit came and was going CRAZY. I didn't really have enough here at home to start the change of diet and felt discouraged pretty quickly (until I went shopping and stocked up). And just like the person (Daniella) before me I will add that 'Yes', you've gotta be willing to put some time in the kitchen to make this work. That having been said though, if you can make yourself do that, and have the time then you'll do well with this diet. Just remember, it's not a temporary fix - this is a change of lifestyle, something you have to be prepared to live with forever. But you CAN eat normal food - unlike SlimFast (the liquid diet).

I DID lose the weight that I wanted at the end of 6 weeks and believe that if you dedicate yourself to sticking with the plan that you can count on being your ideal weight for as long as you want.

Am going to try this program, DESPITE the repeated attempts (5, in total) of the company to offer me more products to "accelerate" my weight loss, "as recommended by Mr. Thurman"... including nutritional supplements, videos, cookbook, etc. I had to repeatedly ask the operator if the basic program worked without all the extras, as advertised. She simply continued offering me ways to pay more to "accelerate" my success..."double" it, in fact. We'll see..........

Am fascinated that most of these posts share the exact same writing style. Have never seen another board with such little variety in the use of English and writing style. Interesting........

I thought I was alone on the issue of pushing additional weight loss products when I called to purchase the 6weeksbodymakeover. They tried repeatedly to sell additional stuff as "recommended by Mr. Thurman", They will charge me $1.00 for vitamins for 30 days supply but will now bill my card $30.00 every 60 days for additional unless I call to cancel. Just as you stated in your post. I had to ask the operator is the products they advertised on TV works at all. Why didn't they state on their informercial that I will need to spend more than $140.00 to get this. She also said that I will get the Restaurant guide only if I paid the entire $140.00 all at once. I had to come on line to see if there is any information I can find regarding this diet plan. I have wanted to purchase this plan for a very long time. I have seen Michael Thurmond in one of those extreme makeover shows. I also believe that the plan makes sense. I believe that I failed in the other diets because they were not tailored to me and my body type. I am willing to give this a try. I will need some adjusting with the no salt or sugar but I am willing to try the substitute. I am excited and looking forward to getting my plan. I have a whole lot of weight to lose. My plan is to lose all of it in one year. I hope to come back to this forum and tell you that I did it. Thanks everyone for letting me in on your experiences.

I started this program about 3 weeks ago, I am just about 15 lbs heavier than I wanted to be, but for me it was mainly about targeting my weight loss in strategic areas. I gain weight in a weird fashion for woman, I gain it in my face, neck, shoulders, arms, and belly. My legs, and rear end stay slim. I wanted to slim the top half of me, which has always been a major challenge.
This program has been great so far, I have already lost more than 10 lbs, mostly in the first week, and I can feel my fat becoming harder to pinch in my problem areas. This program has kept me feeling good the whole time, no hunger issues, and mostly I have an enormous amount of energy because I'm not letting myself starve throughout the day! I walked on the treadmill a couple of days, but mostly this loss is from my diet choices. It is a very logical approach to weight loss, and I will keep it up for years to come! I recommend it to anyone who really want to take responsibility for their body~. ~

:-) Hi 6-Weekers!

I wanted to ask all the people who HAVE done this program if you were just eating and drinking totally calorie/transfat/nitrate dense garbage before you started this program?  Many do and that's fine I just get so bogged by the 'experts' out there who assume that, when in my experience we generally come to them because that wasn't the issue or no longer was. For me, it never was. I've always loved higher nutrient dense foods more and if I didn't eat them my pain levels go up and when you can't take pain meds, you learn real fast...

8-|

Please don't be insulted though  by that. The reason I say that is because I've noticed that when I find 'experts' online and talk about how I'm mostly vegetarian and fairly purist about what I eat etc, their heads about explode from confusion. You'd think they never heard of medical issues being THE PROBLEM and not just THE RESULT!

I have untreated PCOS and a few other health concerns and live on a strict budget so I have to be careful about how I spend it. I'm sure my metabolism is a bit messed up due to a lifetime lack of eating in the morning etc (nausea/gerd) but mostly I will NOT or EVER be someone who gets 'the freebie' 30-50lb weight loss based on 'eating better food' generally because while I maybe would do with a bit less dairy or something, there wont be many other changes other than how often and how much and what time of day etc.

I also hate to cook because I prefer salads and things like that and steamed veggies...  I don't drink coffee or soda, for starters. No nitrates (headaches), no pastries (stomach upset) or MSG (headache and stomach upset and higher pain level). Might be a few mg of HFC (headache/pain) in there somewhere but I doubt it cuz on most days short of pulling the veggies out of the ground myself, I cut/steam or eat them raw with few additives or extras other than other veggies, some plant proteins and seasonings or real onion/garlic for flavor.

Oh and can a vegetarian do this? (ie little fish/beef/poultry)  Animal proteins aside dairy generally make me hurl if I have it more than about once or twice a month.  I also have limited mobility due to some injuries from trying to work out too much (irony right)!  Is there info in there for vegetarians who follow this?

So, do you see hope for a situation like mine on this program or?
Thank you!! :-P

No way this is a scam, I seriously believe if it doesn't work , their either not doing it right or they are lying to themselves when they think they are answering the survey thruthfully. My husband and I both started the plan together, and I know he doesn't like to admit certain things regarding his eating either out of denial or just plain ignorance. I lost 22lbs in 3 weeks and he lost 4... he hates it, says it's too extreme and I really think he did both, answer the survey incorrectly and probably cheated. The only reason I stopped was because after the weight loss my ovaries kicked in and I became pregnant. My daughter's almost 9mos old now and I'm going back on the diet, hopefully I'll get past 22lbs again.  :-)

This is a scam. They charged me for items I didn't want. Called customer service within 1 minute of placing the order becuase items were included that I didn't want and the address was incorrect. The gentleman said he could help. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, he refused and hung up.  I called back and talked to a different customer service representative.

I was informed that she couldn't help me, becuase they didn't see the order number for 24 hours. The same reason the first customer service representative gave me. However, the second customer service individual, Mikea, assured me that they could address the problem if I called back after 7:00 am PST the next day. I pleaded to talk to have my call transferred to a supervisor and she refused also.

I called at 7:04 the next day and the customer service individual said he couldn't help me.

I wouldn't have mind paying the $120.00 for the program, but I was charged $300.00.

Do not order this product online!  It is a scam and the customer service will not help you if there is a problem.

You're actually supposed to eat 5-6 times a day; smaller meals! It gives your metabolism little boosts throughout the day. It's healthier. Truly it is. I am speaking from a dietician's point of view. Your body is a machine that needs to have fuel constantly put in for it to work properly.
