Hello.m, just had my stint put in last night. Had a 5 by 5 mm stone. This stint is so uncomfortable, and I cry every time I pee. I am a college student have have to give a speech on Monday, and that also happens to be the day I get my stint removed from reading the entries before mine some people feel even worse after it’s removed for a while. I am externally nervous. I would also like to know if I can take a bath.the pain pills make me sick to my stomach and I can’t take any of the burning relieving meds due to a previous surgery. I have a string attached to the side of my leg and I just want to pull it out myself. I was told I would have some discomfort, but not this much pain.

Get Wheat Dextrin, 2 heaping tsps. in coffee in morning, or more use if using pain meds which cause the constipation. I'm on 2nd time with stent, but knew pain meds would do that and take stool softener 2 times a day along with the wheat dextrin. HOpe that helps

Stents hurt, they hurt bad, the problem is, the ureter is supposed to be one way, but the stent makes the ureter open both ways, so when you pee, some of the urine goes back up the ureter which causes horrible pain. I'm one week out with stent, they left a foley in me and was supposed to leave it in until this Tuesday, my second procedure, because he couldn't get all the stones the first time. The foley made it easier to pee, but I was in pain all the time. I took it upon my self to take out my foley, I started feeling better right away, however, when I have to pee, I get pain so bad it brings me to my knees, worse than the kidney stone itself. However, the pain subsides after a couple of minutes once I finish, and all is good until I have to pee again. Toradol is the only drug that helps me, I can survive as long as I have it. Oh, I had a TURP, ureteroscopy laser lithotripsy stone removal and cystoscopy with bladder stones removed. The pain I have with the stent is horrible, but it goes away, the pain I had with the catheter was constant and never went away. They need to invent a stent that has a one way valve so it functions like an artificial ureter. Until then, it's gonna hurt

I keep seeing on these posts that some people feel little or no pain from having a stent. I have yet to hear from these folks. Can some please tell me that they have had zero to minor pain.. ty. I’ve had mine for 6 days after a ureteroscopy. And it was killing me for the first 5.

I hear ya I just got out of the hospital after 4 days cause I had a 2CM Kidney stone in my bladder they had to remove and now the stint they left in is causeing some very strong pains but I gues that’s normal from what I’m reading on here....

Yes, it’s completely normal. Most of the patients experience pain after ureteral stent placement. You may feel pain while urinating or after performing strenuous exercise. However, if the pain is unbearable, consult your physician.

I had 2stones crushed.1 was 1.7cm and the other was 2.2cm.I had ureteroscopy and cyctoscopy done with a stent. The stent has caused too much pain to work on my feet. They can't get me in to remove the stent.12 days in wearing this stent;instead of 15 days.Really!!I can't work cause standing on my feet. The urgency to pee is too bad.Peed 7 times within an hour in a half.I can't run to the restroom and have a line of kids for breakfast and lunch!

I went in monday last for ureta and cytoscopy, was home fairly quickly and didn't know until the consultant rang me later that day that none of my stones had been removed as the end of the cytoscope came off in my bladder and had to be retrieved with forceps!! I had a stent put in supposedly in preparation for repeat procedure in 6 weeks but I just want the stent out and no more treatment, the pain has been unbearable and the blood in pee is still really bad into the 5th day!! Rang today for an appointment but waiting for them to get back to me,

Had stent put in but still smoking, and took my night time meds instead of day time ones. Now I feel light headed. Is mixing the meds a reason why or my smoking?

My urologist also gave no warnings about stent pain. Maybe if they told patients, they wouldn't make as much money. I know I would have refused it. I hope to get my stent out in two days time. This has been the most painful 10 days of my life. I am back to the start because I still have my kidney stone, the initial Ureteroscopy could not reach the stone because of a narrow ureter. I'm not a Doctor, but, if a stone wont pass through a narrow tube, you then place a stent in the narrow tube, now the tube is even narrower, right ? So, how the hell is that going to help me pass a stone.

I had a stent put in last year. I have been off my heart medicine for 3 weeks due to a bladder lift surgery. I woke up 2 nights ago very dizzy and coughing a lot. What does this mean?
