Hi. I have a baby. Sadly, pediatrician diagnosed hip dislocation several days ago. After several examinations doctors told me that she needs to be operated. Can you tell me are there any risks connected to this surgery and if surgery is really necessary for hip dislocation? I am really concerned about this.

There are many surgical options for hip dislocation and it is important to understand which patients benefit from which surgery. If doctor suggest you to go on surgery than its solution for your baby to become healthy and to feel better. Doctor may require surgery to correct the placement of the hip for children who are older than one year.  Like every surgery this one can be risky and risks include nerve injury, bleeding and infection. After surgery, the child wears a cast.
