This all happened to me recently as well. I’m dark skinned so I didn’t notice my scrotum was red until I started getting a burning sensation on my genital area. I went and got STD tested but all tests came back negative. While looking at my scrotum I noticed that it was red and extremely sticky. Upon further investigation I noticed the bottom base of my penis was also sticky and the skin was red and slight inflamed. I also noticed a slight redness in my groin area on my legs. After research and a second visit to the doctor, I was told it was a fungal infection.
What I used was chlotrimazole antifungal cream for 4 weeks. It wasn’t until the end of week 2 that I noticed it was going away. I also used Defense Soap which is both anti bacterial and anti fungal. I purchased that one amazon. I believe that soap helped majorly. Really dries your skin but that’s what I wanted, I didn’t want that nasty sticky balls feeling. Some days you might shower and when you get out, the stickiness is worse. Don’t let that bother you, keep doing your treatment and air drying whenever possible after you shower. It’s been two months since I first started the treatment and I have no stickiness whatsoever. I still use the defense soap cause I’m paranoid of the fungus coming back but I stopped the cream after 4 weeks of use.
Also, wash your blankets and clothes often and in hot water and dry extremely hot. Try to kill as much fungus as possible.
Hope this helps anyone else that gets this infection in the future, I know how much it sucked for me, may this advice help you.
