Coldsores = mouth herpes. same thing. HSV-1 is the oral version (cold sores) and HSV-2 is the genital version. ALSO nothing on this thread sounds like the herpes virus. It is extremely painful and they are BLISTERS that WILL go away. (the blisters, not the virus itself) It is definitely not small pimples with seed like centers. Definitely not something that will stay for years, either. Speaking from experience. I had to add this because I would hate for someone to have this skin condition that is being explained in this thread and start to believe that they may have Herpes. It is just not the same at all.

Hey. I know what your talking about. It was on my arm when I was a kid. My doctor diagnosed it as ringworm as well as eczema in the same small area. He said it was a very strange place for ringworm. After a couple of days of using the medication he prescribed the red ring around the spot went away but I had theses bumps all over the area. I ripped them all out. I noticed that if I used tweezers and dug past the seed and pulled out the root it wouldn't come back. If any the root was left behind it would come back and spread. After a couple days of ripping them out, keeping my wounds clean and using my topical medication they stopped popping up. Its been years and I still have the scars today. They look like craters and have stayed the same for over 10 years. Go see your doctor and tell him if the medication isn't working. If nothing works put a seed in some water and bring it in for him to see. Good luck.

I have this same exact thing!! I have been to 5 different dermatologist and they all say it's due to stress. I look like a monster with all of the dark scars and crater like places. It's just awful and Very painful as well! I've tried everything...apple vinegar, peroxide, antibacterial soap, lotions, creams, keeping places bandaged, letting them breathe without bandage, dandruff shampoo on places- tgel etc, ring worm cream (this helps a little bit a lot) boric and dishwashing soap bath, bleach water bath, garlic, tea tree oil, antiobics (this helps most but you can't live on antibiotics obviously because them we would become immune to that one) lemon and baking soda masks etc. etc. etc. at this moment I have 8 places... On my arms, face, chest and back. They look horrible and feel even worse. If you get the white seed like things out it will heal up but then your left with yet ANOTHER dark scar or hole in your skin. If anyone ever figured this out PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I BEG OF YOU TO PLEASE SHARE THE INFO WITH ME. I would feel like I had my normal life back if I could fix this for good. This started when I was around 30 and had very nice porcelain like skin (people use to tell me I looked like a porcelain doll). I am 37 and now I look more like a doll you'd use to scare people.

I'm sorry I meant to say the ring worm cream helps but NOT a lot. Also it wouldn't let me type all I had to say. Here's the rest... People stare at me, judge me. Someone has actually told me that they thought that I was a heroin addict's until they got to know me ( they realized that couldn't be farther from the truth) I just cried and cried it hurt really badly to hear that. Whatever this is I do know this… It's not contagious, at this time unable to cure, extremely painful, just awful looking and overall absolutely humiliating.

They r not ingrown hairs first off. I have same things. I have immune defficiency disease as well. Dr now is saying they could be herpies zortex I think thatts the kind of herpies he said. There are different kinds u can get not just from sex. Genitically. They follow the nerve endings under ur skin and pop up there. They can also be from parisites to a fungal infection. U should go to dermatolgist or get refural from ur gp to go. They r now in my nose mouth and eyes. Check into lupus as well. They cause them to.

I believe this to be a deep folliculitis. I have been dealing with it on my forearms for 7 years now. I don't know why, but the scabs with white plugs had me thinking it was some mysterious condition. Recently, I have been focusing on using treatments for folliculitis and have been having a lot of success. I also have spots on my upper back and shoulders. I have been using Bactroban twice daily on a qtip in my nostrils and applying Clinique clarifying toner on my arms at least twice a day. Something I read said plain hydrogen peroxide or bleach water compresses, but I had the toner sitting unused and decided to try it. I am being super careful not to touch my arm or wash the skin too roughly. I truly think this is a due to staph and I had just continued to spread the bacteria. I agree that the spots do not heal until the keratin plug is removed, but I haven't been getting those as much recently. Just the tiny water blisters that I couldn't seem to leave alone. One arm has completely cleared and the other spots are fading and shrinking...after a few days From what I have read, it is important to dry up the spots so I am avoiding moisturizers. I am also going to cut out my sugar in my coffee and decrease my carbs to see if this helps.

You're not crazy. I believe you. I have it too. You're not alone. In fact, EVERYONE has it, but for many reasons, some people become over run with it. It is possible to win the war with the right tools but it sure does take a long time and serious persistence. It's a parasite called Demodex. I have researched this for six years and have a plethora of information on the topic if you'd like to contact me.

I believe I've had this for quite some time and didn't realize it until it became a full on infestation. I'd share mt findings here but the list is honestly endless. Bottom line, it will irritate you to no end, it's a hard road to travel, it's very strange...but it can be helped.

No one should give medical advise to anyone, unless you are a Doctor. I also mean the advise of a nurse isn't always correct

I have suffered for a decade and spent thousands on dermatologists, cultures, biopsies, prescriptions, etc. I am finally getting better after months off wheat, eggs, rice and milk products (yogurt, cheese, etc.). Not fun to give up pizza or breakfast croissants or bagels, but these lesions were disfiguring my face. You need to figure out your own sensitivities by eliminating most common allergens and keeping a diary. I also went off my high blood pressure medication (not good I know, will need a replacement.)
