Hello,

I have read many posts about these symptoms but no answers. For the last 6 months I have had "attacks" where all the sudden I feel bloated, stomach ache, have horrible diarrhea, vomit at the same time, then my hands and feet start to itch so horribly. The whole thing lasts about an hour, with the itchy hands being last symptom to go. One of the times I had increased heart rate and the most recent I almost passed out while in the bathroom and had to lay on the floor until I felt better.

I am 29 year old female. I thought it was related to food, but I can't find a relation. I went to allergist who thought I was allergic to Ibuprofen and I have stayed away from that. Most recent attack yesterday. Today my stomach just doesn't feel right...still feel bloated and kind of sore... Any insight??

I have had the same symptoms....have had four attacts in the last few months...they sometimes come after eating..thought it may be that then the last two have been at 2am....it is the same as you..If you shed any light on it all let me know..they woke me up and I though "oh no not this again" as I know what I have to go through and end up on the floor for a while sweating profusely as well gradually crawl back to bed and try to recover...then it all goes untill next time...very wierd....

I get the same attacks. Haven't figured out a specific trigger. Just had one a week ago.

I do now recognize the onset however, my hands begin to itch a little and I know it's coming. Get near a bathroom and a place to lay down soon because the fun is about to begin, lasting an hour or two....

intense pain just below and to the left of my stomach. Nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, chills and sweats, extreme weakness, I have had to lay on the floor to stay coherent more than once.

Then it slowly subsides and in a couple hours I'm better, though exhausted.

Then it may happen again in a couple months...or a year. No real pattern that I can tell.

I am so amazed to see someone else describing this perfectly, especially the insane itching. You cannot give in to it, once you scratch no amount of scratching is sufficient.....including scraping my hands on the metal edges of the shower stall. It's horrible

Google, Mast cell activation syndrome. Your symptoms resemble mine. I had to re do my entire diet. Foods high in histamine could be part of the problem.

Just going through a bout of terrible diarrhea for 9 days now… one thing noticed this last few days is insane itching feet, and fingers and sporadic hives on body… 7th day the ER nurses surround me trying to get a vein that wouldn’t collapse (i told them i quit drinking water to go see them) they finally had blood tests, stool sample, CT scan… docs gave me anti diarrhea meds- lost 25 pounds. I think I am getting better as gas has started and I can tell the difference now.

Take levothyroxine, bp pill, cholesterol meds…

Did anyone ever find out?

Wow, I have the same thing going on and have been utterly mystified...especially with the *insane* itching on my palms. These events have been going on seemingly at random for about 5 years now. I'll go 6 months without an 'attack' then have two in two weeks. I'd say this occurs about 4x per year, and I'm googling today because I just suffered one last night.

It took a while to recognize this was a thing I recognized happening due to the pattern...and now I can tell when one is coming because usually, my hands begin to itch like nothing I've ever felt before.

When this happens I'd better get somewhere to lay down and be near the bathroom, because the pain, nausea, diarrhea etc is all coming very soon and is inevitable. If the itching begins, I'm on my way to nothing good.

When: Typically 2-4 AM or slightly later, usually mornings. I think I've only had one in the evening.

What: Slight nausea, then sweats combined with supernova grade itchy palms, with intense intestinal burning pain on left side of abdomen. The sweats and disorientation can get so bad I've been forced to lie on the bathroom floor's cool tiles just so I don't pass out.

Then very violent and mostly liquid diarrhea for quite some time until it's clear I'm out of stool and passing stomach acid.

The intestinal pain is super intense and can have me twisting and turning in bed until clearing out the system as described above. The delirium and pain passes in an hour or so of misery, then fades and the itching fades last. A couple hours later I technically feel fine, no aches or pains or nausea, but I'm totally exhausted by the ordeal.

I am utterly thrilled to find that I am not alone in these weird combo of symptoms. Especially the very weird and intense itching, which you have to absolutely resist because it *cannot* be scratched to satisfaction. The first few times I tried to scratch the itching all it did was get way worse, which was incomprehensible but true. I was literally scraping my palms on the edge of the sharpest shovel I could find in the shop, and all it did was make it worse.

Hi, guest.

I won't say anything new when I conclude it sounds like a complex and distressing set of symptoms that have been occurring for a long time. Based on your description, it is difficult to provide a definitive diagnosis or treatment plan without more information and a physical examination.

However, there are a few potential conditions that could cause the symptoms you're experiencing, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), food intolerances or allergies, or a gastrointestinal infection. It is also possible that the symptoms are related to stress or anxiety.

It may be helpful to keep a food diary to track what you eat and whether there is a correlation between certain foods and your symptoms. Additionally, it may be helpful to keep a log of when the symptoms occur, what triggers them, and any other relevant information. This information can be helpful for your doctor in determining the underlying cause of your symptoms.

You should see a specialist, such as a gastroenterologist. In the meantime, it may be helpful to try stress-reduction techniques, such as meditation or yoga, and avoiding any potential trigger foods or beverages.
